Gooples Gooples

Where art though Gooples

The forum is amiss

Without your humour and poetic finesse

How I wish it would be a more harmonious landing

When the chips are down

Dear Gruff, this is of course pleasing to read such adoration. I have this many times been work for Spiritual leader and have indeed experienced of various weapons to use which include this Nuclears, Chemicals and many other compounds

I often find time to look at you forums and all this other tank relations and I have many disappointment with game which I list in another topic some time soon.

But I have a funny feeling that this might possibly not be for very long, judging by the reception accorded the first three posts

I sense from seeing users posts in recent locked threads that either people just don't see the point of gooples or have had a humour by-pass.

The point dear leader reader is that he brings a smile and a laugh to many  people peasants lives.

IMO his posts should be granted immunity so long as people see the funny side and don't start arguing in them.

Not much hope then given the sense of humour bypasses evident.

But it can't really work like that. You have to follow the forum rules unless some players find you funny, then you can post what you want.

Colonel Ross I want you to do a job for me.

Palmer Have I any choice?

Colonel Ross Frankly, no.

[...]

Colonel Ross [telling Palmer about his upcoming transfer to Major Dalby's department]  You won't have much time for cooking. Dalby *works* his men. And he doesn't have my sense of humour.

Palmer [Said with a straight face]  Yes, sir. I will miss that, sir.

[Some scenes later...]

Major Dalby Spare us the jokes, Palmer, I don't have Colonel Ross's sense of humour.

Palmer Yes, I will miss that, sir.

So one rule for him and a different rule for everyone else? Sounds fair?

A little leeway / discretion to bring a few smiles and variety to the otherwise self imploding forum where in the past few months the infighting is on the increase, might be good.

Yes and no, as you pretty much create a precedential case for anyone else.

I enjoy his "creative" topics as much as any other but if he is given more leeway you open up the doors for others demanding the same.

And lets be real, there is plenty of leeway already on this very forum.

Sounds great!

Yes, he could do without some of the hashtags and  perhaps there are some minor lessons to be learnt.

But, I think the posts were obviously designed to be humorous and not taken seriously.

On the rare occasions of these kinds of posts, then so long as the replies are in the same spirit, then they should be given some scope to exist and raise a much needed smile.

One of the roles of the forum is to relax. Doesn't always need  to be so serious,  there's enough of that in real life.

edit:  will add one of the lessons is not to personally attack people, that was begging for trouble.  However said person does have the humorous ability to answer back in the same spirit (I've seen it) and could have raised a large grin, at least from me, in doing so.

If you create a thread and have it closed for being against the forum rules and you then open another thread doing the same thing what exactly do you expect the mods to do. If it’s nothing then who gets a free pass and who doesn’t?
