Loadout.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/loadout

Since Wargaming never heard this word, i thought I teach it to you today.

It means: you do not need to repeat the same steps over and over again.

Wargaming, however, thought it be more 'streamlined' to split the 1 menu for repairs, consumables and ammo into THREE......... and make symbols 5 times larger so it fills the screen... while NOT allowing for quick bindings (hovering above item, hitting 7, its on slot 7 < you know that one from other games)

Having a loadout (for each class) could automatically apply ALL necessary items... like '1 small repair 1 big medkit 1 autofirex' for instance

- so you do not have to do it over and over and over again with each new tank, using those (NOW EVEN CLUNKIER!) menus.

Just hit 'heavy loadout' and it does the heavy thing. Or light and it does the light thing. Etc. etc etc.

Even for ammo types it could *try to copy % based the ammo loadout from the previous gun* or the tank class in general.

You still can apply small tweaks, but the bulk of the work could be settled with A SINGLE PRESS OF THE BUTTON

Eve [edited] Online DOES have that system and they got far more than 1000+ items! And just as many ships as we got tanks. You press LOAD... and it tries to LOAD that crapinto your ship, IF available!!

I can have my ship with 15 slots done in exactly 1 button hit......... meanwhile I take 2~3 minutes to fumble wots 'improved' menus... makes sense!

SOOOOOOO... WHY... can't we have the SAME system- for the SAME task... but instead, we make it MORE complicated by having to go back and forth 4 times to get a tank fitted???

slow clap (on the forehead)

CCP > WG.

A single CCP employee would render an entire floor of WG staff absolute useless. No joke.

They go for good structures. Communicate EACH ITEM USE CLEARLY. They make menus easier and quicker to navigate.

And wargaming.......... well.... "but the icons are BIGGER now our users can SEE them better!" ............. yeah......

just too bad we run that crapon f* PC's and not phones! (and even if it was, there isn't even drag and drop)

PS. and it does not 'JUMP' to the next slot after filling it. So you cant just "TAP TAP TAP" done... but have to select the next slot symbol first! which turns 'TAP TAP TAP' into > TAP...... next.......... TAP............ next........ TAP ........ next. confirmmmm... ugh

Final verdict: F... as in 'epic F-ail'

You can not compare CCP with WG staff, ones made a complex masterpiece for a niche unlike anything ever seen even even by today's standards (will not get in details on the profile of the average player of both games) while the others build a successful mass product

Because Yuriy, Igor and Anton played 20k games and they know to balance the game.

Please, leave it to profesisonals.

Could have been some really good suggestions in there if it wasn't for the virtual screaming and banging on the desk.

Indeed the UI and nr of clicks necessary have become more tiresome.

The new size of the new equipment UI and the UI icons in the garage have become irritatingly big to me, especially since Wargaming seems too inept to properly implement proper UI down scaling feature over the past few years. While most every other engine support UI down scaling...the Encore engine on the other hand can only handle up scaling...go figure.

I'm not sure that i understand correctly, but you're not suggesting that Eve Onlines UI etc works well, do you?

It works well for people who quite literally invest months into it, it's far from intuitive. Yeah you can do all kinds of crap with Eves UI, but the learning curve is incredibly steep, everything is in a submenu (or in the submenu of a submenu). Of which there are plenty.

Yes, Eves UI is very powerful in terms of control. No, it's not a good UI.

Also, since we're talking single developers, you do realise that it took a single CCP developer to rig the game, right? Remember Reikoku?

WG are just incapable of making good menus. Nothing new.

Every UI change they have made over the last 4 years have been for the worse.

Less intuitive, less useful, more clicks.

From a Steve aspect, making it more clear for him. I don't mind it, as I don't have a set setup for each class as such even. Module placement is a bigger factor on what I put on it vs class. Repair, consumables and ammo is usually something you rarely visit besides that first time for it matter as massively as OP's rant made it seem. And the ammo one is more clear on what does vs for a casual. Even shell speed is listed vs hidden in a tool drop menu. The directive tab is not loading or refreshing on each thing you do, making it take 5 min as it stands now anyway. So even that is faster.

The only thing I hate, is that the module line is gone. So I can't quick-change weapons via the garage. Like on the Borsig, or the M4 that I like to use more than one weapon.

Saying that any MMORPG has a good UI is a bit of a stretch of the imagination.

that new interface is total garbage - it literally takes at lest 2 times more time to do all the stuff.

WG designers have the remarkable ability of turning simple menus into complete chaos.

Maybe it is supposed to serve as botting prevention.

I obviously do.

The gaming reference made me believe it was a game developer that went by those initials.

This. In all the history of WoT they have never been any good at designing GUI and the more features they add the worse it gets. You would have thought that there would be experts out there for hire but may be not. Just look at the mess which is the missions tab - totally incomprehensible. Even the mission results box on the mission results screen is totally unfathomable and incomplete.

A powerful claim without any evidence that ignores so many things.  Developers move around; there could well be CCP devs at WG and vice versa.  I will not make a statement of fact because I realise I am ill-equipped to make such assertions.

Remember boot.ini ?  Okay, it was a few years ago, but preventing more than 1,000 PC from booting is hardly a class example of coding.

It took burn Jita for CCP to start listening to its players.

Which willnot be bad omnn the othr hand, we would have our lives back.

I'd reconsider my existance as a whole if an online, F2P game made me say this.
