On a whim today I decided to dig out my T-34 and noticed that the crew were rubbish and needed training

So time for my T-28E F30 Tier 4 premium medium

Normally using this would be too low even for me but there is no doubt it is good at winning battles

An 85mm gun with 120 pen AP and 160 damage at tier 4 is not to be sneezed at, The APCR will pen an OI, and the HE will eviscerate most same tiers

Aim time is slow but other than that there's nothing not to like

What on earth was going through WG's minds when they invented this one?

Are there any other tanks quite so ridiculous?

I got one of those in a loot box. I need to train my t44 crew for the t54. I'm going to play 5 battles in it tonight, I'll let you know how it works out for a 49%er.

Good luck.  My last game a moment ago was interrupted by a delivery but in the previous one put 300 HE into both a T-67 and a Pz IIIJ

And it carries 150 rounds of 85mm ammo so is unlikely to run out

How on earth did they find space for it, as well as 6 crew?

I just looked and I already have 73 games in it with a 70% WR. It has 2 radio operators for some reason. It might carry 150 rounds because it is bloody enormous.

T28 with the 85mm F30 gun used to be a tech tree tank - then WG realised there was money to be made selling it with the F30 :)

I always thought that "radio operator" was WG code for "machine gunner"

Yes, I remember those halcyon days of yore.

And where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?

Can't recall if I bought mine or had it gifted, but if it was cash it would have been trivial.

T6 Medium anyone?

It has the 105mm M4 howitzer at Tier 4 and can reliably oneshot same and lower tier tanks.

The T6 Medium does look nice on paper but I have had no luck playing it.

I suspect it has terrible soft stats.

Is it really that good? I always saw it as a large paper target and nothing to worry about.

Don't recall the cost either, but I'm sure it was less than £10 - definitely good value for the grin factor

That may very well be true for an excellent player such as yourself.

But I suspect that for the rest of us an 85 mm gun at Tier 4 that can pen anything including an OI for 160 damage and put 300 HE into same tier or soft skins makes up for not having a lot of armour.

And at Tier 4 I wouldn't say that 50 mm armour was terrible

LEF is for the big boys playing at Tier 5.  It's actually huge fun using it to one-shot eg a StuG IIIG

T28E is only for us little kids at Tier 4

People... spend real money... on an SPG.... what is wrong with them? It's good at what it does, but what it does requires no skill and is utterly pointless.

I feel it has a (very) decent gun for the tier, reasonable pool of HP, and the 50mm armour can be quite bouncy if you sidescrape effectively

I'd say derp guns on low tiers are similar.

Long aim time, strong punch.

So I played my 5 battles. 4 wins. Loader, gunner and driver are now on 100%, commander on 97%, so an effective crew trainer. You still need skillz to make it work - at least 2 games I only made one or two penetrating hits (but still managed top 10). I got quite a few bounces but only in T4 battles. Armour is not reliable without correct angling. It cannot snapshot. Net income 55'000 credits and 45 bonds from missions, and I used a couple of gold rounds in the T6 games, so not expensive to run.

All in all a strong tank, awesome (ridiculous) gun but lacks the armour to make it OP for new or weak players.

T6 medium is one of the few tanks I'm genuinely scared of when clubbing in my P26.
