I've started realizing nobody uses Anonymizer because its not a automatic feature, people have to turn it on themselves.

I have never been focused more than while using Anonymizer its actually insane.

The only way people wont focus a anonymized person is if there is someone with 3000+ wn8 unanonymized.

Even people saying im a hiding stat [edited]...

Depends. On mid-tiers I notice way less arty focus etc. On higher tiers, anonymized usually means you got something to hide. Even more so if you have a Stug IV or 13 badge that a huge majority of 60% now use. So XMV users seems to focus on those they can't see the stats of then vs the one they can see. I see it every time on tier 8+. The one that was perma stunned usually has the anonymized icon on in the stats post-game. Be it Steve the IS-7 driver or Circon.

I see plenty of less than stellar players using anonymizer. Also notice much less arta focus and weird yolo maneuvers.

I use it, because I like to annoy people who use XVM. I've tried with and without, and not noticed any difference. Seems to me that some clickers with XVM assume you are a uni, and some are convinced you are King of the Tomato People, so it kind of balances out.

Never understood the point of those badges, you get nothing from them and may just paint a crosshair on your tank for showing off.

At least there is a mod that removes them all together for a more unified look.

If you are an above average player, using the anonymizer is actually detrimental. Let's say someone has 1,5k overall and 3k recent WN8, then XVM will show that he has only 1,5k and other players will think he's just a random player while in fact he will contribute a lot.

Even as a below average player it does not make any sense to use it because people will frequently underestimate you.

XVM and WN8 are flawed for a reason which is called False Precision Fallacy.

Both imply that there is a difference between players who have ~2000 WN8 and ~3000 WN8 while in fact this is barely measureable.

Mostly because WN8 is not a linear function.

For example if you do 3900 damage and one kill with a Tier X, that is around 3000 WN8.

However, if you now at the end of the game kill one more enemy who has 100 HP left, your WN8 skyrockets to 4000. Makes sense, right?

The only thing that counts are gunmarks, and you can see those in battle any time on your opponents.

Just few days ago one person at the start of the battle was claiming: We have 4 total potatoes in our team. They are using anonymizer. :D

Never would have thought that not seeing someone's stats in game might make someone angry.

I think the issue with arty focussing is rather simply that arty hits people that are out of cover and in locations that hurt their team.

In other words, 99% of the time people aren't focussed because of their name, stats, use of anonymiser. They are focussed because they aren't Steve hiding and usually among the first spotted. Bob, Steve's arty loving cousin/brother - the family situation is complicated - is generally just as tunnel visioned as Steve himself and will stick for longer than sensible with that one target he sets his sights on early on.

Lol I did not check it but now it makes sense. Doesn't matter if you are a tomato or an obvious CW reroll, in a Chieftain ppl will always focus you. Oh wait, tomatos don't get Chieftains, so it makes even more sense to focus them.

Tomatoes absolutely DO get chieftains. I've been baffled at a lot of chieftain play recently. A quick peek at stats after the game will show a surprising number with less the 50% WRs. How they get them, of course is - ahem - a mystery, but it has certainly enabled Skill4Ltu to finally three mark his, as the requirement is getting lower all the while.

Really? I generally assume people with a badge in front of their name are around my skill level. :amazed:

I play with chat turned off - it's incredible what people can do when they don't risk to be punched in the nose - but I sometimes get trolled too.

Never thought about the anonymizer though, could be.
