Having never played on a console, I have to ask: what could the benefit be?

Are WOT console players statistically any better than WOT PC players?

they are less patient.

the grind time from tier 7 to tier 8 is about 20 games, and a little more for tier 8 to tier 9 and so on.

i dont even think there is a Bluprient feature, the tanks XP cost is low and you get amazing amounts of XP per game even if you lose.

you can blind fire bushes as you see the shells tracers coming from invisible tanks.

there are night maps with weather effects. and they have all the old tanks we dont have anymore WT auf E-100 to name one.

but from what i remember the average steve was not that smart. there was the usual demi god players.

i was doing really good on console, i did not just know how all the new maps worked and i hate playing tank games with a controller

Dont think that would work.

keyboard and mouse gives a huge advantage vs controller.

As if all of the above wasn't enough, WoT for consoles is genuinely a completely different game. Even the physics feel different.

imposible since the games are not even close to being the same

maps are totally different, statistics are different, many tanks have different statistics,  and they have access to much more variety of tanks than wot PC

It feels like wot console is 2-3 years ahead of wot PC

I highly doubt it. Why? Well for starters the console version is made by a different studio vs PC. So there are massive differences vs PC. PC doesn't have the WT auf E100 still in the game. We don't have most of their maps, and the maps we do share are not the same either. Their map layouts are based on our pre HD variants. Most of their tanks armor layout are still pre HD skins too. So not all tanks even have the same value, or even same balance around guns. And at the end of it, their physics engine even differs, along with some base mechanics like non-spotted tanks have tracers. And, their crew skill layout is way different. As in skills we don't have. Inc having a few seconds more time to drown, thus more time to cross some parts of the map vs PC.

Just to much difference to even consider it.

Console also has the WT auf E100 still in the tech tree. They also sell the tier 8 Chieftain T95. Why? They don't have campaigns or CW. They have access to the dev server, and can take anything they want from it and add it. Much like the Chinese server do. The issue with the Mk 6 is that they took an early variant of it that had not been tested much, and just tossed it in their tech tree splitting from the tier 9 Conq. It has been nerfed over 10 times, as it was broken as all heck when it arrived. More so than our 4201. So... just because they have it. Don't mean all is well. It's been a rough road to balance that mess.

Then again, we got the WZ-111 as a premium because the Chinese server took the early untested variant and sold it on their server. And it was balanced with data from that server and released here. So who knows if the Mk 6 might see the same fate in terms of balancing it, and getting it out.

Look on Tanks GG, the cheiftain Mk 6 is very balanced, it has much less turret armour (250) than the current T95/FV4201 Chieftain which has (350) , has a cupola weak spot on the turret, less alpha dmg than the FV4201, less top speed, less hull armour
I asked the developers if we are getting the cheiftain Mk 6 in the recent Q&A and he said

No current plans for now but we will see what the future brings!

You answered the dilemma yourself.

The vehicle has an iconic status: making it restricted as per CWs, Ranked, VISA, etc. Will piss off a lot of folks. Giving it away for everyone will make dilute its status and flood the MM.

Perhaps this is an issue The Salesman can solve. Maybe he can spare us some of that British hardware we are seeking...

I was very excited by this thread until I realised that I had carelessly misread the title as "Are we going Crossdresser?"

I guess that would be more one for Off-Topic

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on what people think or use the money is in the mobile / console market. This is why WoT PC has been made simpler. Look at the garage UI bigger and bigger icons, look at the speed of tanks increases faster and faster and look at the maps ever smaller. All pushing towards the mobile/console market where the money is.
