Last year I decided that I like it, it made more and more sense to me as I witnessed more and more battles lost just because some carefully placed shots did not result in vital kills because the enemy still had a few health points left after that thanks to RNG. I understand that WG will probably never remove or even rework health points because that seems to be the prime attraction of WOT to many players, but I think one-shotting from ammo rack damage or entire crew death should happen more often. Because it is satisfying for the careful shooter and educating for the careless victim.

Watching hit points dwindle, as the engine burns down a tank to destruction, that you've set afire, is one of the most pleasurable things that WoT allows.

I think that flair and skill checks in WoT should come from reliable positioning, knowing when to change said position and being able to maximize everything your tank has when fighting 1v1, terrain considered.

With WoT's map design, making one shots more prevalent would be a serious detriment as a whole. Besides, that would make camo even more OP than it is now, and would make advancing a game even more of an arduous task as long as both sides know what they're doing.

And at last, if I want to one shot stuff, I play WarThunder tanks. If I want something more tactical that requires much more applied knowledge, I play WoT.

If I want both, I play something with planes.

One-shots is one of the single most detrimental aspects of the game.

Vehicles should not half enough alpha damage to one-shot other vehicles or leave them with pocket change HP. If you want to get there you should work for it, which currently doesn't happen since you can accomplish that from where retaliation is very difficult.

Destroying a vehicle through its ammunition deposits is a completely different matter since any vehicle can accomplish that and is not subject to alpha damage.

It is linked to gun calibre for ammunition explosions as larger guns do more module damage making it easier to break the ammo rack module

You should also make a counter-poll: Do you like getting one-shot by the enemy?

Meh, your poll miss the "I like oneshot kills but don't want to increase them" option.

Really, removing an enemy with a single blow is one of the best feeling in WoT, but making this easier would break the game and remove part of the feeling itself.

No, the whole gameplay is about back and forth arcade tactics, also there's no respawn system which would support that. The loading time is too long already just to join a game like that.

I just go play WT when I want something like that, and you should too if you prefer realistic one-shots. The respawn points make that much more acceptable.

start the creepy music.

Spoiler

i love watching enemy health pool draining bit by bit when they are perma tracked in front of me when they pushed to corner sprocket wheel first and their gun is still behind the corner and they dont have a repair kit anymore. and now they are helpless and they have to endure the agony and watch their health pool drain for ever and ever and ever, while they desprately cry for help and slam their keyboard trying to escape, but there is no escape from me... :justwait:

so no.

I quite like one-shotting stuff but other than with the Hetzer (historically,  not so much now) and SU-152, I've never been particularly successful with these big guns with long reload times. I sold the KV-2 some time ago.

I use the 57mm/6pdr on several tier IV and V vehicles and just love that 2-3 second reload and high velocity that makes it easy to perma-track vehicles and continue to hit them reliably even when they disappear due to being stationary.

In one battle I think I immobilised, and subsequently destroyed, at least three vehicles with blind fire after they disappeared. You just don't get that with the big derps.

as i have been playing fv4005 pretty much exclusively past 2 days - i have oneshotted countless meds(stbs,leos,tvps,140s, 430us), its getting boring fast, this shouldn't be a thing anyway.

p.s. fv4005 seems impossible to 3 mark for me :D up to 93.8% and back to 90 :D

It would add a modest element of realism to the game if all shots that pen were to knock-out the target, similarly any hit by a large HE shell

The hit points thing is laughable and seems to have been ported in from Dungeons & Dragons

The ability to (almost) oneshot is a terrible mechanic that is hurting the game and its players and needs to be removed immediately. This applies to any tier and any class.

Pardon me, but there is no worthy pleasure which is not shared, that is something adults have to learn getting out of childhood.

One-shots are fine, I guess, in FPS games but awful in WoT because it generates such a fear factor that players play extremely passively, which is boring for everybody, or plain play passive tanks because they can't take the heat of exposing themselves.

The current pandemic, if needed, demonstrated how our fellow humans are prone to fear, up to hysterical levels.

Fear is no good to anyone and one-shots induce little satisfaction for a few and tremendous fear for many.

The state of the game of the game is not too bad on this regard, IMHO, but is slightly leaning on the too much side.

That's 3 minutes tops and only in Realistic/Sim battles.

Play Arcade mode with markers like in WOT and it is fine.
