Hello,

What tanks used to make you turn around and run or panic and not know where to shoot?

i remmembr seeings a T28 Protopype for the first time, and for about a year i would just turn around and run if i saw one, not knowing how to pen those

Same with the T34 tier 8 USA heavy that used to scare me blind

what tanks did you used to run from and not know how to pen?

what tanks still do make you run?

Back in the early days and driving a VK 36.01(H) and meeting a Ferdinand.

Being in a T34 (tier V USSR medium) and meeting a Type 59.

When they split the USA tech tree I was already high enough up it that I was gifted the T30 and the premium T34 and so never played the T28 Prototype.

FV 4005, FV 215b 183, Strv 103B

Unsurprisingly, they're all TDs.

Ferdinand was such a dangerous opponent. Only later I learned that you can actually pen him with 120 mm if you shoot the shoulders and if you track it it's lost.

I used to be intimidated by obj 430, which I could never pen. Still struggle. I know where to aim, but somehow it just seems to bounce me.
Incidentally, I was playing is7 last night, when I met a suicidal progesterone 65. I bounced 4 consecutive shots off his turret. Looked at Battle Hits afterwards, and it suggested that every shot his his gun. What are the odds?

907 is the only tank that kind of scares me today. Monster dpm and russian troll armor at the finest, this tank can bounce stuff even with his side like no other tank can. On top its low profile. Everyone talks about 279 and Chieftan but 907 is the secret op tank which is rarely mentioned. 279 is a HEAT victim and kind of slow, Chieftan is only great in hulldown situations.

When i was still a new player, i was afraid of T95, as i didn't know how to penetrate it back in the day where i was playing the Tiger I. Now i just farm every T95 i see, either by shooting the couplas, or either by shooting it's tracks (the small weak spot in the frontal tracks) or just keep him perma tracked to laugh at his worm like gun that moves towards everywhere. :D

And now? Anything that i can't penetrate overall, especially if I'm a bottom tier.

The IS-3.

Back when this game only had ussr, usa, and german tanks, the IS-3 pike nose armor was actually very effective. The -3/+3 matchmaking meant that IS-3 would occasionaly stomp tier 5 tanks, and back in the day you actually needed to pay gold to fire gold ammo. Most tier 8 premium tanks would typically have less than 200 penetration on their ammo, so the IS-3's armor hold up very well.

907, flank it and still come out losing all your hp before you can put one in. To a lesser extend the 430's as well.

Also since I don't fire gold ammo I tend to run from all superheavies, but 279(e) deserves a special mentioning.

Nice topic btw :medal:

Yep is3 vs me in a tiger 2 back in the day. bounced shots off them all day while they just laughed and hit you again. Of course by the time I got an is3a as a premium it was all over and they were just as vulnerable . Oh and KV1S used to mean Kills vehicles 1 Shot.

Japanese Heavies back when gold spamming wasn't that big of a deal. T30 up to this day. The T95 sure looks tough as hell, but for some reason, the T30 just sends shivers down my spine when I spot it. Time to hide.

Any tier 9 or 10 TD as they all seem to be inpenatrable from the front.

Tetrarch, not really something to be scared about but meeting them on tier 2-3 was no fun while learning the basics and getting one shotted

Old KV1S will forever haunt my memories.

Nowadays it's an XP pinata.
