I recently started playing with this tank and I am confused on what is supposed to be.

It is intended like a heavy tank with real armor or more like a medium heavy hybrid with a really good gun?

Armor doesn't really work, or the RussianNumberGenerator has been mean to me, and if its not really a a brawler why is it soooo slooow? I guess I should try the amx 50b? Too bad wargaming only balance 3 tanks at a time.

T57 Heavy is kind of a support like heavy tank. You dont have good enough armour or enough hp to push through, and you arent fast enough to drive around.

So you are stuck supporting your heavier armoured tanks or your faster tanks. Preferably from as close as you can, since the gun is very inaccurate.

What you want to do is punish enemy tanks that tries to push or do something (in full T10 games). You find one, you do 1600 dmg to it, you back down.

In T8 games, you just mew everything down with your godly dpm.

Its a high skill level tank or situational.

It was around the first tier 10 I got and I got my arse handed to me, I should have another go sometime.

AMX 40 is a light tank... But you won't pen it with HE. AMX 50 100 is a HT. You can pen that with HE.

Just because it has that designation, don't mean it will the core role of that class well. As in bounce shots etc. This is more or less a bully heavium that's not really fast enough to flank. But it has burst fire. Turret can bounce the odd shot. But don't rely on it. Peek, burst and cover.

stay behind your allied heavies, (not literally behind them but in close support)

let them take the hits then pop out when safe and unload 4 shells and pen 4 shells.

rinse, repeat!
