So now APCR looks like AP from afar. You really gotta look at it to notice the difference.

Whose bright idea was it to put red stripes on the ribbon behind the shell? Oh yeah, that's totally different than AP's red background.

Wasn't it always just black? Color coding, it's so simple.

AP, red, standard damaging shell.

APCR, silver, a silver bullet, super fast. (shell is silver, visible enough against a dark background, stands for itself)

HEAT, yellow, hot like fire, goes through thick armor. (now with a red stripe too?...why?)

HE, orange, explodey kaboomy-bang ammo.

HESH, same as HE? Okay...really?

How come you don't think of these things? Seriously, every time there's some UI update, it's always worse. It's not limited to just this game, either. Twitter recently changed the way retweets work, for example...and it's now less intuitive. The minimap blips are a different story entirely...

You gotta make these things clearly distinguishable from one another. If you're gonna use two colors, use ones from opposite ends of the spectrum. Damn.

Man, as soon as I log on, just to play a bit of Ranked, I immediately find something to complain about...shoulda stayed away.

Do you actually look at the ammo and have to see the difference before changing/using? Don't you just press 1/2/3 for the ammo type?

The idea was to make tanks with APCR as normal AND gold ammo easier to tell apart vs having two similar icons. The red ribbon now always indicates gold ammo regardless of type. No ribbon and just black APCR is normal ammo. Black with red is gold. So unless you sit really far away from your monitor and the red ribbon oversaturates the black to make it the same. It's actually better IMO.

Tbh on most tanks that use HESH, it's replaced with HE anyway on slot 3. So again to reduce confusion for Steve thinking it's not HE.

It's a great idea to have ribbons to show different ammo types vs two equal icons IMO... But the idea shows cracks, not on the aspect of telling AP and APCR apart. But when you play Japanese mid-tiers and AP is on both gold and normal. Red ribbon on a red background to show what's gold or normal. That's the "bright idea" here tbh.

What if instead of looking at the background to see whether it is AP or APCR you look at the shell instead? HE and HESH have always been the same. I will agree on the minimap blips tho, that's one thing you got right.

Just don't load any standard ammo then it avoids any confusion. :)
