So many players get away with it it's insane.
I've been pushed every few games by players ... pushed down from bridge, pushed from cover...
WG has been doing nothing to stop that practice, absolutely nothing.
Please let us kill them at least, one-way friendly fire for those who cause you dmg by pushing you into enemy fire.
First thing first, I don't condone pushing people into enemy fire and I think it is a sick thing to do. I think it is good it is punishable, and people should enable replays to help eradicate this kind of behaviour.
However, I also think this is something to reflect upon. This kind of behaviour does not happen for nothing. It is despicable, but it happens for a reason, and therefor it is good to learn what those reasons are and what you yourself can do to minimize it happening to you. In my opinion there are 3 different reasons why this happens:
- Accidental: A player is disconnected while driving or a player is tunnelvisioning and doesn't see you. Nothing much you can do about this, disconnetions happen and people tunnelvision. However, these instances are actually quite rare and usually they will not persist in pushing you once they notice, maybe even followed by an apology.
- Harassment: Some players make a sport out of harassing players, blocking retreats or pushing people into enemy fire. Only thing you can do here is to keep an eye on your surroundings and try to ignore the person harassing you for this battle. Of course you should report this, but there's nothing to learn from this. This also happens rarely, personally I have not witnessed this in the last year and I have played a lot. Does not mean it doesn't happen, but does indicate it is not very common.
- Aggravated intent: This one is most common, people get aggravated for a whole scala of reasons and sometimes react in aggressive ways like pushing people out of their spot into enemy fire. However, this also happens because of a reason that might be valid (even though the reaction is wrong). You might be because you are occupying a spot that is much better suited for for instance a hulldown tank instead of your light tank. You might also be "dancing" in front of a team member, making it impossible for him to get a shot.
The last reason is the thing you can learn from, because they are directly related to how you play and where you decide to play. I'm not saying it is wrong, and I'm not saying other people always have the right reasons. However, in many cases they actually have a point. It does not help your team if you for instance are constantly blocking their shots.
When this happens, try to understand why this is happening. It's ok to get angry with the person pushing you, I would be too, but in the long run it helps you more when you understand the motives behind certain actions so you can learn how to avoid them.
