Is there anyway to know what is hard cover and what is fake. I was in the factory on Pilsen and arty fired and hit me through the roof which only had a small hole in it which was no where near me. I also coould not see the 2 holes which should have been left from the arty shells if it was collasable scenenary like when you hit fences and walls. bad enough that it could actually see me through a roof. Also on Khrakov I was in a building shooting through a window when arty hit in front of the building. The wall covered my hull but the arty round destroyed my track yet the wall was not touched. So is there a way of knowing what is hard cover and what is not.

Wg changed it so that arty can hit you through 'thin' cover (I forgot the value but it was like 5 meters or something).

If something covers you, it is cover.

Generally it's about experience.

With Pilsen it's a case of having to try it yourself to get a better understanding of how things go. It took me a couple of arty battles in randoms to get an idea how easy it is to shoot inside the factory, much like on Ghost Town there is a construction site in the middle of the town where you can get in cover but arty can easily shoot you still because of how the shell arc is. The Pilsen factory isn't arty safe, that much I can tell you. Rest you simply have to test yourself or find a arty replay on Pilsen showing it.

Kharkov is an example of the game mechanic where if the solid cover you're behind (wall, bridge, building etc) is less than 2m thick, the arty shell will still have an impact through it. This is why even though your hull was covered behind the solid cover there, the arty shell took out your tracks. The most unknown place this can be used in my experience is Minsk bridge in the middle. A tank hiding under it can be slightly damaged (like 10hp) and stunned if you shoot on top of the bridge on the road.

Nobody can give you %100 accurate info about that. If you have a cgc on your enemy team amount of shootable buildings and other arties change. Or you think you can hide by sticking urself near a wall and get splashed by a FV4005 from other side for 200 and die.

Thanks to those who gave constructive replys. It helps a lot. As opposed to the usual post stat padder who's input is so predictable. Pity they don't have something better to do with their life than try to answer every post on the forum with drivel.
