So, 5 days ago I was in the bathroom taking a shower. I left the bathroom at 6 AM, going to play World of Tanks to get the 100 daily points for Tank Rewards before the missions reset at 7 AM.  But, surprise : the servers are down for update. I said ok, I'm gonna do math to see if I can still get a tank.

Doing some math I realised that I can still get the AT 15A by getting the daily 100 points. even if I have been [edited] with the update.

I played World of Tanks yesterday, on 31 october, you know, the last day of the month to get the last 100 points. But surprise: the missions were gone. Apparently, the last day does not count, but it should because it was still october. What's funny, is that the page says "Happy halloween" but you literally can't get the tank on halloween day.

So here I am, with 3100/3200 points, grinding top gun for the VK 100.01P, thinking how I have been screwed.

Good job Wargaming

I have told them, repeatedly, to add a timer to the main site, but they

would

not

listen

Probably on purpose, because they sure as hell read it, the same post in which I pointed out the poor visibility of the date in one of the months due to the background picture, which they swiftly corrected!

They have no excuse. They just don't want you to know.

Every mission always works like that though, because the server reset is in the morning, at the start of a day, not at the end of it.

Oh, we would still see topics like this even then. But yeah, they should have the time it ends under the date there too. As they have on the event page on the portal, and more or less in-game in the mission tab. As they are marked as ending on the last day there too.

But then again all events are marked as ending at 6 AM on the last date, vs lasting the full day. Been like that for a decade now. They do explain it more or less on every event, even when it doesn't have its dedicated page like WOT rewards. But as most don't read up on the event pages, or even the portal or the details in the mission tab. It will still fly by some people.

You know what, that's buIIcrap, WG resets their daily missions at 7 AM, this means the next day in World of Tanks starts at 7AM not 00:00. This tank rewards actually ended on october 30 and I got misleaded by WG. I would have played to get the rest 10+20+(maybe)30 points per day if I had known they would do me like this. Besides, the page was still on with missions yesterday, today after 7 AM it was shown as ended.

No, server reset always happens at 6am so technically they are correct in saying it finishes on that date, it's always been that way and no, WG are not trying to 'do you like that'. You got it wrong, learn the lesson, get it right next time.

The "day" ends the next day 7am not midnight....

Most of us know of this practice (having learned it the hard way...), but it still can surprise you finding out that WG days only last 6 to 7 hours on some occasions. When you see a date like 31st October as the end date, the human mind expect that to be a full day.

The timer would go a long way to solve this, but another set of problem are the unstable servers.

Never trust early hours, that is when servers are updated unless it is "scheduled".

End of day would certainly be less confusing.  BTW I can highly recommend the book below, which is a brilliant thriller, and you can get it on Kindle

End of the day would not really work, that would have a guillotine effect on the last day. As such early morning is the best time to do it, but it would need to be signalled much more clearly. Just announcing the end date causes confusion.

No, WG got it wrong. A multi-billion corporation has enough communications specialists to know that this is the wrong approach if informing the players is the goal. Their goal is obviously to reduce the number of people getting the missions due to "mistakes" like these. Don't lick the boot, please.

They said it star at 6:00, which it did.

They said it end at 6:00, which it did.

Where is the problem?

You would think people would have learned by now, every month it is the same story again. But at least now you know and you probably will not forget it.

The start and end date and time are clearly communicated in the tankrewards article. Yes, it may be more clear if it was also on the tankrewards page but it isn’t. The fact that some people do not read or understand the article and its implications is no excuse.

Anyway guys, cya all next month ......

there is a saying: "every day some xxx gets up"

converted to WoT: any tank reward end will trigger at least one of such topics.

Reading comprehension seems to be as rare as minimap usage.

Don't be ridiculous, if they wanted to limit the number of people that can complete the mission then they would simply make the requirements more difficult, not be vague about the start/end times and hope people don't bother to read the event details properly.

Because the people that learn it the hard way one month are not the same one learning it the hard way the next month? 'People' often talk as if there was a common intelligence that will eventually learn something, when in fact it's many individuals with each one of them learning it at a different time.

Why be surprised that some will discover it way after the others then?

Indeed.  I am both bone idle and highly intelligent

If there is something I can be bothered to go into, I will rapidly become an expert.

If it is something so uninteresting as the subject of this thread I will do my very best to forget it.
