I dont like to play tds but I like snipe from the back. Whats the best tank to do it with, heavy tanks or light tank? If I sit in back with lt I can spot for real tds and get assist but if we're spotted i can die fast so then I feel heavy is best because then the tds die faster if im in is7 or polish heavy with HE. Any tip?

This is just a threadstart to help people with this play style in picking the right tank for the job.

Not sure if this is some kind of troll post.

If you want to snipe from the back, you should play a TD, simple as that.

If you absolutely don't want to play a TD and still snipe, I really don't know what else to tell you.

Definitely do not go sniping in a light or heavy. You will piss off your teammates, and rightfully so.

There might be some medium tanks that can snipe, like the Leopard 1 line. But a tank like that is useless if it snipes at the red line the whole game and doesn't use it's mobility to relocate to good positions.

Mediums are multi role vehicles, so there will be moments in a battle where it can snipe, but it's usually not their main priority.

Like I said, if your main preference is to snipe from the back, get a TD.

In lights? Well, that's about half the Type 64's as is tbh for that to matter.

As for HT's? Well that depends on what, as not all HTs are armored brawling behemoths. I don't get much hate from anyone if I do that in my 50 100, less so in a +2. I suspect I would if I did it in my E75 tho.

I'm speaking in general terms.

There are always exceptions and situations.

But OP is talking about mainly wanting to snipe from the back.

So if that's the way he wants to play and mainly the way he wants to experience his battles, he should get a TD.

Try out the Swedish tier VIII medium - Udes 14 alt 15. Fast, small, somewhat agile and low silhouette with superb depression and a somewhat accurate gun with laser high speed shots. And superb camo. Perfect for playing sneaky semi-TD style while poking over ridges and harrassing enemies.

Really 33k games and than ask this.....

-1 heavy need to be in the front fichting or in the active part of the map (than you get support from your tds  in the back if they have the iq too move)

And your meds can support on the flanks ,your arty can support you also.

-2 LT sniper on the redline ......be prepared to get some nasty words after the battle.

-And this after 33k battles ...

Play arty, then you can sniper from the back with a big cannon AND a big rock in between:arta:

Seriously though, why specifically the question for light or heavy?

I see the vast amount of meds often times being the redline snipers. Prime examples being Leo PTA, Spaghetto, T-xx (dont matter what number)

I usually do a bit more of the "second line sniper-esk shenanigans in my Tiger II when I'm bottom tier in a TX game.

And btw, why not just use tanks like Skorp or SU130PM. They can sniper-ish.. but dont play as your typical TDs I think.

Just go with E100 sniper imo. Pretty high dpm with small gun, good enough accuracy. And it have armour that bounce.

Seriously! Arty is the best sniper.
Cant remember the last time my M53/55 missed a fully aimed shot like my Skorpion do in every battle.

Lights obviously! Camo penalty when firing is smaller on them. Don't forget to equip your light with binocs and camo net. You might consider load a healthy amount of he shells aswell, they don't lose pen over distance, and always do damage!

1. Look at the name of the poster!

2. OP's most played tank is G.W.E 100.

3. OP's 9th most played tank is Jpz E100

4. OP's 10th most played tank is Strv S1 premium.

5. OP's 3rd most played tank is IS7.

6. OP's most played light tank is T49.

Some lights were made to shoot and scoot, they are not spotter tanks.

Since the uptiering i would say the crusader is probably the only light suitable if you can get the view range. Its definitely not a spotter.
