Where in the name of all mighty does my Foch 155 regular 293 pen ding on E4 side turret? (under 200mm most places)
After this gamelosing ding and 35% overall winrate this morning, you either quit for the day or start playing M53/55.

My experience after playing this game for years this will continue rest of the day.

Either you hit the left-most part of the cupola (which is an auto-bounce), the bottom part of the machine gun of the cupola (around 50-50 chance of penning) or you hit the top part of the machine gun area (the 'forehead' on top of the cupola), wherein you have anything between 20-35% chance of penning.

Looking at the cupola with its machine gun in the screenshot, I'd say the turret was angled at about 45 degrees. Which increases the effective armor of the turret side to up to 255mm, and some parts of the cupola have over 280mm, which is enough to have a realistic chance to bounce your shot (and there are some autobounce-spots as well). Without knowing where the shell actually hit its of course all speculation.

Mistakes occur. On the flipside, the Foch 155 doesn't have 750 DPM for nothing.

I bounced an unangled 240mm thick Mauchen turret cheek point blank twice in a row with Foch155 293mm pen AP. Third shot hit the edge of his gun mantlet.

 

Obviously my mistake was not autoaiming him with cHEAT.

your first mistake was playing the Foch 155 and expecting any part of it to work correctly. It's a garbage tank, fire HE and save yourself pain.

To be fair tho, if that shot went a little to the right when you aimed that high. That would have hit the front of the MG turret that is over 350mm effective at just under 70-degree impact angle, or even a 50% ish chance to pen if it's close to a 60-degree impact angle. And that's the downside of all those trees as you don't see exactly where the shell goes.
