Reproduce: 

1. Get in a game with STRV S1 [premium tier 8 tank]

2. Go on muddy terrain [tested there]

3. Press the key to enter the sniping mod

4. Stay out of the snipe camera, and move the camera above the tank

5. Move the camera left and right - you will see the tank moving left and right without moving forwards

6. Press A or D to move manually left and right - the tank will move left and right and it will move forwards if the S key is not pressed

7. Return to step 4 and do step 5 again, it will also move the tank, thats the inconsistency

Mouse only moves camera, pressing A and D activates tracks and if you alternate them it seems pretty logical the tank will wiggle forward.

The Swedish aim system means that when you aim it turns stationary. It does not have a moving barrel, the whole tank moves as the barrel.

If you use the movement keys, it.. well... moves.

 

So, this does work as intended.

Unless you're on flat ground, the S-tanks will bounce and slide down the slope over time even if you're perfectly still, unless you hold right-click (to stop the automatic aimcircle's dropoff compensation adjustments). I've noticed this while playing the 103B on a ridgeline.

 

Guys I think OP's issue is the tank moving forwards without pressing W, i.e. while turning on the spot with A/D.

S-tanks do move when you move mouse. Annoying as hell, but it must be a feature.
