I just had a brilliant idea.

 

World of Tanks should add Tactical Nukes, its historically accurate and would be a nice counter for artillery.

 

The idea:

Players should be able to obtain the Tactical Nuke kill streak when they reach 6 kills in a single game.

When a player reaches 6 kills he is able to use the Tactical Nuke just like the Arty strike mechanic in Frontline.

 

Stats:

The Tactical Nuke should have blast radius of like 100 meters where it obliterates any tank (mainly arty) within the range of the blast.*

The Tactical Nuke should also have a countdown of 20 seconds, where it warns enemy tank drivers (not artillery) of the nuke that is coming in. This way players are still able to escape if they decided to queue in a normal vehicle.

 

What do you guys think?

 

* Blast radius could be upped to 200 meters or even more if not proven effective enough against artillery.

I love the idea, but realistically arty should have the nukes. Heavy guns did historically have nuclear shells. I would really love to blast the campers on the other side of the map to smithereens.

A: You need to know the location to use it on them, as 100m on some maps is just one grid. 

B: One grid is more like a 100 lbs bomb vs a Mini nuke tbh

C: If I had one... I would not use it on a lone arty in A2 vs the HT lemming push on F7

Or they can take the arty counter idea from "road to berlin" and make it easier for your arty to counter enemy arty if they don't move. Or the more enemy arty fires without moving to hit your team, the more everyone on your team knows its location on the map and thus knows where not to go base on the firing line.

3 kills - UAV: reveals enemy positions on map for 30 seconds.

5 kills: Airstrike: Sends several jet fighters to the selected area on map to bombard enemies.

7: kills: Helicopter support: Calls for attack helicopter that will provide fire support for a short ammount of time, or until its destroyed.
