The Tier IX Soviet tank destroyer K-91-PT will be coming to the Supertest on Monday. 

 

 

The vehicle is equipped with a 122 mm gun that has an accuracy of 0.4 and an aiming time of 2.2s. The reload time is 8.6s. Its standard AP shell can penetrate as much as 258 mm, while the special APCR shell can penetrate 315 mm of enemy armor. The gun traverse angles are 10 degrees on each side and the view range is 360 m. 

 

As for survivability, only the front of the superstructure is very well protected. The vehicle's durability is 1,600 HP. The vehicle speed can reach up to 45 km/h, and it has a specific power of 20 h.p./t. 

 

The K-91-PT is a support vehicle for medium and light reconnaissance tanks. The vehicle's mobility allows it to reach key positions on the map, and its firepower is enough to cause significant amounts of damage to enemies.

Take advantage of the vehicle's pros while considering its cons (such as the gun's traverse limits and depression/elevation angles) so that you can fully unleash the potential of this tank destroyer.

DPM a little low, doesn't isu122s have better reload for the same dmg all the way down at tier 7?

DPM is decent for a T9 TD, almost identical to the Strv-103-0 and higher than the 704 or 263. Comparing it with the ISU122s is silly as that one lacks penetration, mobility and armor.

 

Seems to be quite similar to the 263, trading DPM for Alpha. The limit of just 30 rounds might become quite awkward though (Strv with same alpha and arguable less space has 50 rounds).

too low for me to play it, 

 

low alpha and low dpm guns are waste of time

 

390 dmg at tier 9 should get high DPM to compensate

As long as the armor is not *EFFECTIVELY* as broken as the Bobject was, it's fine. We don't need more bullying TD's in the game.

Except 2700+ base DPM isn't low at all. The only T9 TDs with significantly higher DPM are Tortoise (very slow), Conway with small gun (bad armor) and Jagdtiger (slow).

 

In the end the question is how good the armor, the mobility and the gun handling are in practice. High DPM is useless if you can't make use of it (see Badger).

It's the same DPM as a Patton, I don't think that is very good for a TD with no turret, 390 alpha and heavy tank pen. 

 

Conway has a turret, 700 more DPM, a little more alpha, gun depression, isn't rear mounted, almost as good mobility, way better accuracy, more view range, better premium round and better aim time. Also the Conway has ability to mount a bigger gun with almost as good DPM as that thing. 

 

JT has way way better gun, it has much better pen on both rounds, a much meatier alpha damage, considerably more DPM as well, better accuracy. Yeh its slow but this thing is hardly rapid at 45kph and I doubt 230mm armour on the casemate is going to be much better than the 250 on the JT, especially as the angle does not look great there.  That slope to me looks similar if not worse to the 263, and the 263 has 250mm there. Maybe the armour is more there, but you'd think considering it says -

Then that is where the 230mm of armour is coming from and that is a K-91 hull which we know has no real armour.

 

To me that thing is lacking a lot of characteristics that define a TD, especially a turretless one, i.e. a scary gun, that usually means high pen + one of high alpha or very high DPM, it has none of those. It has heavy tank pen (with poor premium round, a T-10 is packing 340 HEAT), tier 9 medium DPM and alpha, on a heavium speed package with no turret, that is rear turreted and has bad gun depression. 

 

That armour is going to have be amazing to make that work I reckon. 

 

Aside 450 DPM, 2 hp/ton and 1 degree of gun depression, this is lacking to a 263 in armour (likely), top speed, penetration, alpha, gun traverse, hit points, and aim time, with everything else being similar. 

 

Suspect this should get buffed from there, otherwise its going to be a poor tank. 

 

Also the old SU-122-54, which was not a great tank had over 3k base DPM for 440 alpha, and had 340 HEAT pen, which is what I expect the were kind of trying to replace here with a bit more armour.

Conway has about 3000 base DPM, this one has about 2700. Not sure how you end up with a difference of 700 there. Alpha difference is neglectible, the bonus in gun depression is paid for with very limited gun elevation. As for mobility and gun-handling, I said we'll have to see how the new one works in practice (softstats). Because while the Conway has pretty good accuracy and aimtime (with the 120mm gun), its dispersion softstats on movement are horrible, and the turret traverse is also rather slow.

Mind I never called the DPM "good", but its hard to call it "low" when it sits right in the middle of the competition.

Apparently you're comparing apples and oranges here stat-wise. The number listed for the K-91 PT are base stats without crew, not effective stats with a full 100/110% crew (you can generally tell the difference by the aimtime numbers: base-stats only have a single decimal digit, effective stats have two decimal digits). Sure, it doesn't make a huge difference, but when comparing numbers one should use the correct ones.

I agree that the alpha should be raised to the 440 of the SU-122-54. Depending on how the remaining stats are balanced I think its ok if the premium pen and DPM are lower if the armor is usable (the SU was a glass cannon after all).

We deffo also need a k-91 arty and a k-91 light tank
