Isn't IS-6 one of those premiums you can buy for gold from the tech tree?

You can buy an IS-6 right now from the Premium shop if you want to, but the follow-up question is whether you should. I mean - I find mine pleasant to play, but it is not a superpowerful matchcarrying monster (especially not in my clumsy hands).

I'd avoid the IS-6 if I were you. It's not even a shadow of it's former self sadly.

Defender is a hunk of scrap, not unless you like driving in the open with your stupidly stupid armor and not be able to go anywhere in a pinch or hit a tank that's a stone's throw away from you.

IMO it'd be better to wait for the Defender than buy an IS-6. The IS isn't great compared to its peers and the preferential match-making isn't as valuable as it once was. You'll see many more tier 9 and full tier 8 battles than you will see tier 6.

Wait until the 703 II shows up in the advent calendar (it will according to leaks), it's a way better choice.

Yes you can buy those, IS-6 is on sale in game and in the premium shop.

Defender is only on sale in the premium shop in special bundles that can appear on random weekends.

so yes you can buy those.

IS-6 you can buy right now.

Defender you can not buy right now. you need to wait for a special offer.

:)

Actually a fun Russian premium heavy to play, thanks to the great gun handling and double barrels.

Both are very good, but Progetto 46 is regarded by many as the best tier 8 medium tank in the game. It has no armor so it's kind of tricky for a new player, but otherwise it is a super good tank.

Whatever you do, avoid IS-6.

Terrible penetration for both AP and APCR, terrible gun handling, 2013. pre-HEAT/APCR for credits tier 8 armor values, mediocre mobility.

Poor credit farmer and okayish crew trainer.

If this list for Advent Calendar is true, there are better and more fun tanks in it. :great:

Cobblers. The IS-6 play the same it always has. I wouldn't recommend it to a newer player, but the tank hasn't been effected by game changes anywhere near as much as people claim.

What French auto loader would you recommend? Or maybe the skoda?

Personally Lorraine 40t as I dont have Somua (might buy that one with gold).

Its not a "forgiving" tank, but as long as you play to its strengths (clipping people not expecting you), and avoid its glaring weakness (armor), its a really fun medium.

Aside from that, I would get 703 II as others have mentioned or LT432 if you need Frontlines fun tank.

A 53-minute review with a good look at the armour scheme and details of the tank? Sample battles as both high and low tier? :amazed:

Where are the whizzy graphics and neon flashing headline intro with a quick skim over the details followed by you showing off your single best battle from the 20-something you recorded? I mean, you haven't got a headshot of you gurning like a simpleton in the thumbnail and it looks as though you're playing the tank without food. I can't process this, I have the attention span of a goldfish with ADHD thanks to years of five-minute summaries from someone who'll never play the tank again. :(

I mean I can show the multiple aces I had and the 6k damage game I had while playing the tank for this that was only stopped by my team capping if people really want...

Seriously though, I try to pick matches that are demonstrative of how the tank can be expected to perform rather than super-duper good ones as that has never struck me as helpful and gives unrealistic expectations.

I revisit the IS-6 periodically and use it as a bit of a barometer for the level of unjustified outrage the playerbase has. If the IS-6 still wrecks face (and it does) then maybe people should just chill a little.

p.s. Cheers for the watch! :)

Why would anyone want a Defender?

I got the IS-6 from those terrible footlockers and its a really fun tank to play, used it more than the dire T77 that I also got.

Defender is also superb, but takes some getting used to with the front plate and angling etc.

Both good imo.
