Any chance of a reminder of what maps have been released in the period in question? The only one that springs to mind is Province, which I have blocked. Wasn't Paris in the game for longer?

If you're referring to Frontline or special mode maps then I've no idea as I've not bothered playing those modes.

allow multiple choices. There is more than 1 thing good/bad about maps.

WG either needs to nerf mobility globally or increase map sizes. High tiers are so crowded on maps such as ensk, himmelsdorf, mines etc.

Bad maps in general like empires border, minsk.

And their reluctance to reintroduce old maps. Sure we got pearl river but think how long it is after it got removed. Just pure laziness to exclude a lot of maps from the 1.0 rework. Where's, dragon ridge, south coast, stalingrad, port, hidden village

First of all, very good choice of answers for once! Big thumbs up for that!

-"What are your main issue with the maps as a whole." is hard to pick as I have several main issues. Still picked "To much 'you push you lose' design on maps." but "Promote passive gameplay to much." is a big thing for me as well.

-If you could make one change to the maps, what would that be? - "Make them more balanced, so both spawns have an equal chance of winning." is the main for me, but more chances to flank is a big one as well.

Released are Berlin, Studzianski, new Charkov, new pearl river, Minsk (I think is the name). Maybe one more.

The reason for only allowing 1 answer is that you are forced to rank your opinions and say what is your main concern or main positive thing.

Thank you, votes cast.

Overall, I think the maps are ok, the reliance on corridors seems to be lessening slightly but most maps still require better movement for flanking or flexing. I still hate the this-tank-go-here mentality but on most maps that's something that the players are as much responsible for as the map design. Once a meta has been determined for a particular map, it takes a long time for players to accept that there might be other possibilities.

I couldn't answer the question about "best thing" as none of the options sum up my view of them being generally ok so I went with "other".

Berlin, Studzianki, Province and Pearl river are all in the top 10 most unbalanced maps in the game. From an array of 40 maps, the top 10 favour one spawn over the other by anything from 6-15% last time I checked. Included in the top 10 are oldies but still not goldies like Mines and Karelia. Need I say more?

How good is a map is entirely subjective. Some people might like the aesthetic or the ambience of the map but that doesn't mean it's balanced. You can check how each spawn fares on every map here.

Are you able to pinpoint why exactly those maps could be unbalanced? To me Berlin or Studzianski doesn't seem unbalanced at all since they are rather symmetrical. If I would have to guess, Studzianski spawn 2 is the west spawn based on how I experience battles going.
The sample sizes there, while quite large, are bit worrying as in who are they from. They obviously aren't gathered from some database, but instead looks like users have admitted them.

Lets be honest, WG is just terrible at making maps. I never claimed that I could make better maps, but it ain't my job. You would expect at least some brain activity from map developers.

Instead we got new Erlenberg - where they just stopped working on it, and just put large open field to middle with genial forest camping positions, Fishermans bay 1.0, Highway HD, Fjords 1.0 - with one spawn having significant advantage, Mines - how this map is still for high tiers and still has its winning spawn unbalanced is just ..... , New Pilsen with its amazing alley on the "medium flank", seriously person/people responsible for this map should never be allowed to work on anything related ever again, Studzianki - same, kick people who worked on this map.

Some maps are good/ok, some maps are ok but with absolutely braindead camping positions - cliff where you can sit pretty much on spawn and shoot some angles on mid? Like what?

You push you loose type of maps - Airfield, Studzianki.

HD maps look great and I could easily imagine WW2 battle on them, on some even some open world RPG or something, and some maps I would love to visit, but in general WG map developers in terms of gameplay, they suck.

I think the majority of maps are ok. But the direction they are going is a bit worrying. Fjords, Cliff, Erlenberg and the one with coal piles were all dumbed down from what they were. "This is where your tank class goes. Go there and you'll get a few shots of damage, guaranteed." Berlin is still a bit of a question mark, but Minsk was quick to find its way to the ban list. Studzianki would join too, if three ban slots were available.

More and bigger maps are need to compensate for the ever increasing tanks speeds and ever increasing view ranges especially with equipment 2.0

The map I always enjoy playing on is Redshire, regardless of tank type. I think its because Redshire uses hills instead of closed corridors (buildings or mountains) so battles feel more fluid as opposed to linear. It's likely WG use buildings and mountains to block arty resulting in the corridors but I think it would be far better to have open hilly maps with soft cover and areas of the map blocked to arty in the air by barrage balloons or zepplins or high bridges etc..

I think the people that make the maps get told to make certain design decisions. Which sane map designer would create the killing fields like on Erlenberg?

I still enjoy the open 'landscape' maps more than the street maps and a few more would be good. But I think the Poll is diluted too much with subtle nuance questions that split the vote to learn much from the answers.

Minsk

Pearl River

Pilsen

Studzianki

Erlenberg

Glacier

Kharkov

Ghost Town

and maybe Ruinberg also classify as new with all changes done to it.
