I see a lot of CC's promote aggressive TD play, yet apart from the British and  American turretless TD's the aggressive play does not seem to work, for me, I am totally comfortable in a Brit or yank TD shoving forward at a gentlemanly pace, yet when it comes to say, the Russian TD's, which I am not saying are bad I tend t hesitate more, what is the key to playing the Russian TD's, some Germans too for that matter?

Answers can only be vague on such a general question. I play them aggressively. That does not mean go front line. But that means moving up with the team, even spotting where possible.

I guess the easiest answer is this: if you are sitting somewhere "in ambush" in your TD and there are no targets, no one is spotted in your area and the only enemy tanks spotted are out of your draw range, you aren't playing them well. Anything between that and yolo-die-too-fast is good.

Ok specifically for me I had the Object 263 in mind although the question which you have answered perfectly could count for all that entire line.

-The american and english  T110e3 and Badger  Obj268/4 lines are pure assault Td's (thats why the armor)

obj268/4 have less armor for speed(but in game not true Russian Bias)

As you can see those 3 nations have 2 td lines  one is a assualt line Obj 268/4,T110E3, Badger ,Jg pz E100(strange1)

One is a more a supportline obj268 ,Fv4005,T110e4

tank                 armor        gun           mobility

T110e3           x x x x x     x x x            x x

Badger           x x x x        x x x            x x x

Obj268/4        x x x           x x x            x x x x             on paper

Obj268/4        x x x (x)      x x x            x x x x              in game extra point on  the armor russian bias

JG pzE100     x x  -           x x x x x -   x x                 the - is half a point  i find this one hard to place against the other 3 but supose to be the German assault td

268 4 line genuinely has some OP TD's in it that never really get mentioned by the community.

SU-101 being one of the biggest examples.

Any time I encounter these little f***s I pretty much get my rear kicked...

Obj 263 is very much a get right up in their face tank. You got the speed and the armour to do it.

Ok thanks for the replies, i am the opposite everytime  t try to emulate the CC's i get my butt kicked, lol, nvm, onwards and upwards, always strikes me as odd though that the tier 7 SU 1000 M is better armoured than the tier 8, WG and their ways i guess we will never know why.

Just play your Grille like a light. The enemy team does not think when they turn a normal corner where normally a small little light will spot them they will run into you.... Always fun

I am sure it is fun but  I don't have a grille, gave up on that line when I realised the tier nine has the same problem as the Russians do, lack of gun depression, leads to, well, depression.

Well, that one (WT af pz IV)  is a pretty quirky tank cause if you have the gun pointed frontally you have lack of depression and good elevation (gun is mounted AA-gun-style) but if you turn the tank over and point the gun rearwards you have goodish depression but severe lack of elevation (a reversed AA-gun, sort of speaking).
