How random battles classification really works?
Well, you do get less XP for shooting lower tiers - which I am assuming you did - and also for shooting at targets you are not spotting yourself, which is quite comon with Strv (and TD's in general)..
That said, AMX 49 XP score is strange, as it seems they have not:
1) done any damage
2) spotted enemies 1st
3) assisted (tracking/spotting) others getting damage
4) scored any kills
5) made any base defence/capture assist
which pretty much means they did absolutely nothing. They shot 4 times at something, failed to pen, and got shot 4 times back to garage. No idea why they should get more XP, even if you spent your match camping redline shooting at tanks 2 tiers lower.

XP distribution strikes again! ![]()
But to be fair, XP is not a performance metric. WN8 is.

Average XP would be a pretty good performance indicator, if WG had not decided to include premium account bonus from the start.
Yeah, it's ok on average but battles like one OP had do happen and xp reward there makes absolutely no sense.
Also, why even look at average xp when you already have wr?
He hit all 4 of his shots. Presumably all were fired at a tier 10 tank since they all bounced. Despite doing literally nothing other than dying, he (I assume) engaged a tier 10 vehicle and halted its advance briefly, which I guess the game rewards as an honorable sacrifice...plus, he did it at close range, unlike you.
Oh wait, I just noticed you're in a tier 10 vehicle, while he's in a tier 8.
Yeah. That explains everything. Lower tier tanks in a battle earn a lot more XP.
I believe the damage should be the most important, if you are spotting and nobody hit that target, what matter your spotting?
Is the damage that put end of battle!

Platoons, mostly. That's why people went through a lot of work to come up with performance ratings, the last being WN8 (and an experimental version of WN9).
I believe Wargaming will change something in classification. This today not only affect xp and credits, affects other things like points for Battle Pass Season, Bounds, and maeby other's.
I hope they review this!
