Just wondering if there are any "designs/concepts" of heavy tanks from post ww2 Germanies, that WG can use.
Cuz that would probably be super cool.

There werent any. Germany was given US tanks until they started the Leopard project in the mid-1950's.

Maus II

JPzE100 with mid mounted superstructure

Sturm Maus (think JPzE100 but with a Maus hull instead of E100)

J.Tiger B

I think I've read that post WW2 Germany adopted the strategy that tanks that were not hit were better than tanks that could. So they developed the Leopard line of fast and moveable along with the French. So no German heavies. Remembering NATO plan against the USSR was the retreat but slow the advance to allow America time to ship more forces over to the fight, which again meant no slow heavies.

By 1945 Germany had moved on to more advanced weaponry

I think there are enough overpowered imagination tanks in WoT even now.

Not entirely true. There were tank designs even before the Leopard project started. None of which left the drawing board as far as I know but still.

Tanks Encyclopedia

Already in 1945, after Germany’s defeat, not only its military was disarmed, but plans were made to disarm the industry as well. Military factories and civilian factories with military potential were closed down or heavily restricted until 1951. However, since 1946, several members of the Allied Commission considered it hurtful that Germany’s industry was so heavily restricted, as it not only worsened the social situation and living conditions in Germany, but it restricted economic recovery and growth of other European nations as well. After the division between East and West, further steps were taken to halt the closing down of the industry. Combined with the resistance of German civilians, the Allied control finally decided that West Germany’s industry was important for the prosperity of Europe, and combined with a growing threat from the USSR, it was concluded that the industry should be built up again. In the end, only a quarter of the 1,800 factories planned to be closed down were actually closed down. The industry could recover and was in such a position in 1954/55 that the Indian government had enough confidence in them being able to design a modern tank.

Tanks Encyclopedia

Since 1953, Porsche designed several tanks which included:

  • B-PS 100, a 36-tonne turreted tank, armed with a 90 mm gun with loading assistance and a crew of 3.
  • B-PS 101 Ausf. A, a 36-tonne assault gun, armed with an autoloading 88 mm gun, and a crew of 3.
  • B-PS 101 Ausf. B, a 36-tonne turreted tank, armed with a 55 mm quick-firing gun, and a crew of 3.
  • B-PS 102, a 39.5-tonne turreted tank, armed with a 90 mm gun, and a crew of 4.

Couldn't find anything about that new 07-RH thingamabob. Although the name suggests Rheinmetall was somehow involved in the same or similar design.

WG doesn't need a blueprint/design concept to make up a tank these days. Just a quick glance at the balance sheets is all the inspiration it needs.

It's MBT, but quess you could make it HT category for its armor? Since there's already OP hulldown chieftain and broken 279, they could simply add Leopard II for new set of missions for future, it would fit nicely into current tier X.

There are one or two ones they have failed to implement in the game. One would be the WW1 era k-wagen, and also the very obscure Maus II which would have used a turret very similar to the one we have in the in game e100 (jentz and doyle do a number of articles and drawings of its design). If they really stretch it they can do the Panzer IX and X but these were only conceptual drawings made by the signal magazine to fool allied intelligence and are not based on real drawings. Also remember that tanks like the jpe100 and sturm maus are made up my modellers and are not based on any drawings.

There also obscure ideas like the Panther Langholzprinzip where they had tank chassis carrying naval guns but was more a of a tank based railway gun not a tank itself.
