I'll do the honours myself: 24.136

 

Those are the number of battles i tried to cope with clickers, sky pigs arty in this game. Being hammered to death when moving, getting sure damage and kills stolen and always that thought that just sitting in a corner, clicking with one hand and wanki...jerk...drinking a coffee with the other is such a more easy and relaxed way to play this game...just profiting of other people taking the real risk, them doing the real work and taking damage.

 

Enough is enough,,,, after 24.136 battles i give up. 

 

Today i'll sacrifice the little self respect i still have and go over to the dark side. As per today i am joining the clickers gang! To all the hard workers out there.....prepare to meet my AMX 13 F3

1) I'm impressed. Your battle count is 24126 and you claim 24136. Are you from the future?

2) Can I recommend turbo charger on the French arties? Bombing it around can actually be quite fun, and you'd be amazed the positions you can get into and the shots you can get that people don't expect...

Leo PTA, 1 battle, did 136 points of damage and lost, somehow this was the surest way to see that you should get the Leo 1....

Hmmm, i used my ingame statistics? Thanks for the turbo tip! First battle was quite entertaining, i think i'm going to like this. Had some experience with arty before but quite limited.

No, very limited skills is my problem. I should stay below tier 8 tbh. But anyway, my OP was meant to be sarcastic/fun, not serious.

Yeah, got that, was just focusing on the hating on tier X play. 

I have some bad news and good news for playing arty. You are heavily team dependent, bad news. You can really work on not giving a F while experiencing gameplay from arties point of view. It like being a general, but with fake people...just just see stuff explode and not care at all.

This is the very crux of 99% of all issues in the game

 

The sooner people (and it took me over 49000 games) realise this the happier they will be in their 15-1 's.

 

We all watch circon, skill, even QB and they make it look so effortless that we believe we can all play that way - we cant, we get fu*ked and blame it on everything but our own lack of skill..(although WVs are a pain in the c***ing behind)

I wouldn't say effortless because that isn't true. Those and every other good player put some effort into their game to improve. But honestly, it's quite an easy thing to do if you're willing and have the time. Maybe not as "purple" but at least in the 2000-2500 WN8 range. That is very much achievable.

 

Let me tell you something about Unicorn_of_Steel in particular. A while ago he made a topic here asking how to improve and what's the best way to do it. He got a lot of feedback and one of the conclusions he came to was: find your comfortable tier and learn from your mistakes by watching replays/streams including your own games.

 

What happened in those last two years (?) was different though. He played on and off for a bit I believe (not sure) which is understandable since we all have a life. And once he played, he didn't stop. The amount of battles per month is huge.

 

So, 1) no consistency since you'll eventually forget what you've learned and 2) no chance of course correction. Both will kill any chance of performance improvement. I am sure he had lots of fun though and that's what matters. But it's quite easy to play at a much higher level and not just for you, me or Unicorn_of_Steel but for most of the player base. Up to and including tier 8. It's an easy game to play and to play well up to a certain level.

Oh, everything is working as intended and is completely fair and everything else is confirmation bias or conspiracy theories, right? Seriously, the 105 leFH18B2 is a tank destroyer gifted with bird's eye and seven seconds reload time. Find an enemy tank and you can keep it tracked in place with every shot and slowly grind it to pieces with no chance for the poor victim to do anything about it. Oh, and an enemy light tank dare to venture into your base hoping to score some cheap artillery kills, the 105 leFH18B2 is based on the French B1 heavy tank and will get alot of random bounces from unexperienced tankers, and with the seven seconds reload time you can effectively use it as a tank destroyer and pump shots into anyone who dare to get too close.

Noticed the same thing when I was training to be a teacher. Watching experienced teachers doesn't actually tell you much. You see the finished product, but not the effort, failures behind the scenes and not the thinking. Same with WoT and any skill I think. We see a unicorn effortlessly farming scrubs, but we don't see the thought process behind why they chose that spot exactly.

Life took a long expected but to early swing at my health so i have more than enough time to kill, hence the high number of battles.

 

I have been trying to go beyond tier 8 but tbh thats over extending for me. Sold those tanks except the Strv. 103-B. Still mostly playing the tanks i feel comfortable in, in tiers 5-7. Currently working on survivability (thanks Snaques) and dmg output. 

 

Please shed some light on how to get a WN8 of around 2.000. I really want to learn.
