Because then the Type 64 can't have it in his #1 spot and use his pre-nerf light status to even more ridiculous levels with that bonus. As much as a 430U can get a CVS bonus. And I'm fine with that.
Tho there is an argument for subclasses. As my 50 100 has little interest in survival slots vs say my Maus. Much as my T95 or any assault TD is interested in a firepower slot vs a survival one.

Whatchoo talking about Willis?
Medium and heavy tanks can use vstabs just fine.
And they work exactly as they did in equipment 1.0

he probably meant that TDs and SPGs could put it in the first slot and gain the bonus (equipment from the firepower category will be more effective from being in the first slot) even though they can't, mediums or heavy tanks can't get the same bonus (as mediums get mobility bonus in the first slot and heavies survivability). so basically noone can have a stronger v-stab..

Surely if that's what they meant then that is what they would have written.

It's also worth noting here that Vertical Stabilisers don't have any Firepower slot bonus, precisely because no tank that can equip them has a Firepower slot...

i edited my post a bit to be less confusing..
but there is no other explanation, IMO. OP is unhappy that putting a v-stab in any tank's first slot will not have any benefit at all. that is, by the way, a good point. why tanks that can benefit from a v-stab the most are not allowed to get the most out of it?

I don't.
I just use one of the gajillion demount kits I still have. They seem to be breeding in my depot.
I used to have lots, but I like to chop and change a lot and experiment. Now all gone
Still can't decide if to have optics and bins on the E25 when setting up as passive scout as they don't stack. Same with camo and the new exhaust thingy which also apparently don't stack. Been perming 3 from 4 and can't decide. Probably how I used up all the kits!
I have zillions of stabiliser greasers but none of my tanks can have verts. Or so I thought then discovered the SP1C can. So I mounted that to try and use up all the greasers. No idea if it helps or not!

I do think the specialty slots should be different on a per tank basis, not a class basis.
Maybe some tanks should have a specialty slot that you can choose from between 2 different specialties.
