I stumbled over some nice scripting for Autohotkey over at mirtankov.net (http://mirtankov.net...0-12-49-59.html) and decided to share my translated version of it with you guys.

It is a autohotkey (www.autohotkey.com) script, that allows you to customize quick-chat messages. These are bound to the numpad and are quite handy to quickly give some advice and info for your fellow teammates. You can customize the messages at first run via GUI or by editing the created AHK WoT.ini file, afterwards. The script collects the folder information for your WoT installation and creates a new desktop icon for starting WoT with the quick-chat extension.

INSTRUCTIONS: (open spoiler to see)
Spoiler

Troubleshooting:
If for some reason, the script cannot start your WoT Installation (maybe because there is another testserver installation present), you might have to provide the paths in the ini file by hand, where it says:
[AHK FileDir]
Launcher=ERROR
WoTexe=ERROR
Replace the ERROR with your full paths to the correct exe files.

I.e:
[AHK FileDir]
Launcher=k:\World_of_Tanks\WOTLauncher.exe
WoTexe=k:\World_of_Tanks\WorldofTanks.exe

Have fun playing with this.  :Smile_honoring:

EDIT: Corrected some wrong descriptors on the initial GUI Window. All fields are now correctly labeled to their respective keys.

Update: I included the follwing commands as predefines (you can change them if you like ofc.):

num0=Do not take their base!
num1=Cover the western flank!
num2=Cover center!
num3=Cover the eastern flank!
num4=Sorry.
num5=Sitting in an ambush!
num6=Come on after me! Lets RUSH!
num7=Flanking left side
num8=Center
num9=Flanking right side
numdiv=Highlight the mapsquare, please...
nummul=I need a clear line of fire! MOVE!
numded=Back to base! Threat of capture.
numsum=To their base! Take their base!
NumDot=Too many! Don't commit suicide!
NumEnt=I'll scout! Arty and TDs take aim.
NuLock=Up the Hill! Follow me!

Could you be more specific?
You installed Autohotkey and ran the script?
Did you get any error messages?

I'd really like to improve the script a bit more. :)

You probably need to write better instructions, some people don't know how to run scripts...

Works fine for me and proved very useful, will be recommending this to others!

Added more detailed instructions how to use them.

Thx for the feedback Fragnostic and Otrorto. :)

When I press MOUSE4 or MOUSE5 on my G500, Firefox searches after "="... Any fix?

Some script of the g500? Many users reported problems with that device.

i thought this as well, since xvm starts tanks itself as well, so unless this script can be added to the xvm config, i doubt many ppl will use it :(

It does work, just start the launcher prior to starting the game via XVM shortcut. (Just close the launcher window after you see the tiny wot-logo in the system tray, start your XVM enhanced game and it will work.)

Will other players see the customized messages? ie. Press F3 for : THERE ARE TWO FLANKS ON THIS MAP!

Will I be able to change the content of the hotkey messages at will?

There is a configuration screen when you right-click the wot-logo in the system tray and select "Settings". Alternatively you can edit the "AHK WoT.ini" file with any text editor and change the messages there.

The whole purpose of this is to have chat messages that are posted into the ingame battle chat to your team. There are no visual markers on the minimap like you get with the F-keys, however.
Those remain unchanged as they are hardcoded into the game.

The script is also great to quick chat some uplifting quotes to your teammates, that would take too long to punch into the chat otherwise. Got some klingon sayings on mine atm. ;)

I.e:

"Four thousand throats may be cut in one night by a running man."

It is a great one for scouts. XD

I also change 8 to "Reloading...." and 2 for "Reloaded in 20 seconds...".
Those come in handy when playing high tier arty or french autoloaders.

What the duke said. The script had some problem determining where your real WoT installation is located, be it by strict UAC settings or the simple reason that you have two ore more copies of WoT installed (Testserver? Older copies for replay playing?).

Try the steps written under Troubleshooting in the OP. :)

Lemme get this straight:
Download and install AutoHotKey
Download attached file and unzip it
Put file in the same folder where my WoT is, with
Customized key messages-I now have a text file named AHK Wot
Make sure the shortcut to WoT is targeted at the  WoTtransl3.14b file in the WoT folder
Run
Error message
Check if I can anything else, such a searching for [AHK FileDir Nonexistant] file
Try searching for some Nul folders
Didn't find anything, sorry!

PS: I don't have a numpad.

You do not have to put the scripts into your WorldofTanks folder, it can run from anywhere. Just make sure you keep AHK Wot.ini and the script together in the same place.

Have you checked the contents of the "AHK Wot.ini" where it says "[AHK FileDir]" ?
Are the folder names correctly pointing to your installation? (Post the content here if you are not sure)

PS: I don't have a numpad.

I guess you are running it on a laptop/notebook? You have a numpad integrated into your notebooks keyboard. To use the quick-chat commands, you have to press the Function key (termed "Fn" or similar, writing on it is often a different color) and then the corresponding key on your main keyboard part, that has the number/math operator (same color as Fn key) on it.
