Check your expectations: this is not your typical squishy French tank.

Get it from the referral program.

Play it on Frontline.

Wiggle wiggle while on top of a hill or slope / raise your gun to be in the way of the cupola, then it becomes a Chrysler K / Defender - a T8 heavy tank without a real frontal weak-spot.

Very abusable, but without actually having other imbalanced features.

I dont know how to play against this tank. I dont have it, but I hate play against it.

It seems weak, but penetration and alfa and some sort of trolish armor can hold it quite well.

Still a solid choice but it does require good positioning. Better grind it in the ref program or buy it for bonds if you want it(and if there is no better option coming in the next shop refresh)

I dug up that old screenshot to show how to get the best out of the armor, imagine the calculator is a wall, that means you are hiding the cupola and the weak hull cheek, while angling the frontal plate and the other cheek, making them stronger, meaning the weakest point your enemy can shoot at is about 235-240mm thick, also your gun is not blocked and is able to shoot back. Sure such position is not always possible, but still with wiggling and using the gun for protection between shots, you can avoid some of the shots aimed at the cupola(keeping some range when possible helps too, few tanks will miss the weakspot if you get right in their face).

very situational, guns accuracy is quite trollish, could imagine it's made in china or soviet union.
base pen is fine, but 30mm more in "gold" is quite a struggle on bottom tier game.
Cupola is penned by anything, tall tank in facehug position or accurate guns best choise is to load HE and autopen cupola.

And as falcon placed that example how to get best angle on front, remember in that angle your sides are penned 99% time, so keep sides in cover.

And another notable thing about side armor is, that it's  thin, and long HE will do a lot of damage and modules are knocked out freguently. ( ammorack and fueltanks) large repairkit and safestowage skill recommended,
Mobility is decent as heavy,

Overall it's ok tank, nothing special but neither total piece of s***
Deserves buff on cupola and alpha increasing to 320 like most 100mm guns.

I bought the Liberte and it is like other French tanks, it is easy meat for the MM reds so I don't know why WG claim it isn't.

Its camo does however look good in the garage, and it can earn decent credits and survive when nobody is trying to kill it.

just a small FYI - you can buy that thing ingame for gold, directly in the Techtree (without the Clown Camo) for 10.500G and in the Bondshop with the "Camo"

Played it in Frontline - didn't like it. It has very very very weak side armor and very big cupola. Gun is also meh, it would be better with 20 more damage. The best thing you can do is getting it from referral - but any friend you recruit won't be your friend for long :D

Well ain't it just too slow for that format?

Bought it with bonds not played it very much as yet.

decent tank with one notable weak spot.

If it wasnt for that weak spot I would have bought this for cash years ago.

Good tank but can be bought for free in bondshop, there's no point to spend money in the premium shop.

Does the front armor of this thing work like with the T9 and T10 single shot french heavies?

What is your experience with this tenk in terms of armor reliability vs T8s?

Nope, nope and nope.
And on tier 8 game it does bounce few from here and there. but you cant angle it effectively withou having cover, when u angle front to block most of tier 8 tanks ( if not spamming heat/apcr)  your side is open and overmatched by anything ( nearly) and if u see cupola, u can pen it with any HE available.

Liberte camo is one of the best camos in the game. I suggest WG put Liberte in next advent calendar and make it available for gold please.

Very good crew trainer and solid tier 8 credit maker.

Actually not as bad as other tanks that are being sold for real money. Unfortunately it is much less fun that it used to be:

- players now know to shoot the weak spot

- player spam gold ammo anyway

If this where to be truly competitive tank it would have the clip of the Somua or the auto-reload mechanics of the Proggetto 46.

As it is, it can be fun or at least not suck but it depends on a lot of stars to align.

And don't forget the ultra-vulnerable sides & rear, have fun with those arty splashes... :bajan:
