Greetings Tankers!
I will be hosting a 5v5 Tier 8 tournament in the near future and I'm looking for teams willing to register!
The prizes are yet to be confirmed, keep an eye out on this post and consider hitting that "follow this topic" button.
Here is the basic rundown of the tournament:
- Tier 8, 5 vs 5 (2 reserves per team allowed)
- Tournament will consist of either 8 or 16 teams (depending on the number of players that sign up)
- Tournament will be a knock-out bracket style.
- Maps will be attack/defence (defending team has 2 bases), teams will alternate and in case of a draw teams will play each other for a third round on encounter.
- Draws will be counted as a victory for the defending team. In the case that a tie-breaker ends in a draw, the victory will be awarded to the team with the most kills across all 3 games.
- Maps in rotation: Cliff, Ghost Town, Himmelsdorf, Lakeville, Mines, Murovanka, Prokhorovka, Ruinberg, Sand River, Siegfried Line, Steppes.
- Maps will be decided with a random name picker.
- Each battle will be 7 minutes long.
- Premium Tanks, Reward Tanks, Wheeled Tanks & Artillery Pieces are banned.
- Collector vehicles are allowed.
- Matches will be streamed on twitch.tv/iksta101 and I will be commentating the matches as a spectator (there will be a delay to prevent stream sniping).
- Players are expected to save all replays in case of unfair play.
- Battles will take place in a training room during the 27th of March 2021. (Times to be confirmed, but matches will probably start at 1pm GMT)
- A discord server will be created for this tournament and its participants closer to the day of the tournament - invites will be DM'd.

The ideal number of teams we are looking for is either 8 or 16 teams so that we can have semi-finals and a final showdown.
Each team will need a name and ideally a logo (500x500 pixels) and a colour to go with the team. Please keep names and logo's appropriate or team applications will be declined.

FAQ's:
Q) Why are premium and reward vehicles banned?
A) Premium and reward vehicles have been banned from the event for two main reasons. Firstly, I wanted to give all players an equal chance to participate and be competitive.
There are some tier 8 premium tanks in this game which many people believe are substantially better than the non-premium counter-parts.
I want to provide as even of a playing field as I can for all players. Furthermore, there are several tier 8 premium tanks which are in the current meta for 5v5 tournaments,
I want a unique tournament that forces unique line-ups and tactics. Removing these tanks from the roster will hopefully force different gameplay,
which you probably will not see in other tier 8 tournaments.
Q) Why is artillery banned?
A) While artillery can be useful for beating a defending team, there are many situations which makes having artillery almost a guaranteed lost in 5v5 tournaments.
I want to reduce the chance of steam-roll victories due to a serious hit point or rate of firepower difference. I believe strongly that the removal of artillery
will help ensure consistent dynamic gameplay in this tournament and therefore I am willing to run this tournament without them.
If this proves to be problematic, I will allow them in future events.
Q) Why are wheeled vehicles banned?
A) As many people are aware, wheeled vehicles in the eyes of many players are extremely powerful and have a lot of impact on the tide of a battle.
This is more-so apparent in 5v5 where there are fewer tanks. To keep things competitive and interesting,
I felt it was in the tournaments best interest to exclude wheeled vehicles from this event.
Q) What are the prizes for this tournament?
A) As of current, there are no prizes. I am in the middle of figuring something out, however I can not guarantee any prizes.
As soon as I can/can't guarantee if there are any prizes I will update this forum thread
so that you are all aware of what the winnings will be.
Q) Are there any rules pertaining to equipment, consumables and directives?
A) Players are free to use whatever shell type, consumables, directives and equipment they like. There is no limitation on premium ammunition, large consumables, directives, etc.
