And what if it's a mix of women and men?
I'm assuming the actual gender of the commander decides the gender of the new commander.
You can change the commander's gender seemingly freely through Personal Customisation now. It allows you to change their portrait (to male, female, or special such as Arengee Penetrael, George Patton etc) as well as name (if applicable; if you assign a Patton customisation you won't get to rename the commander).

went to the sand box and did the training it looks like horses for courses and in some cases better however 750 gold to train for another Tank
still wait for a discount weekend
P.S they had girl crews in the main
Assigning a new tank works the exact same as retraining the existing one; which is very similar to Live:
- You can spend 750 gold to be trained at 100%, with no XP loss (Live: 200 gold per crewman).
- You can spend 500.000 credits to be trained at 90%, with 10% XP loss (Live: 20.000 credits per crewman).
- You can spend nothing to be trained at 70% (Live: depends on retraining, but assuming the same type it's a 20% penalty instead).
Credit retraining is certainly a nerf, as it raises costs significantly, but gold retraining is certainly cheaper than it used to be. Free retraining sucks, just like on live. Keep in mind that retraining for credits or for free will cost you XP, and thus reset your crew skills. This also applies when moving up tiers, eg. from the Panther at VII to the Panther II at VIII!
By the looks of it, if this is implemented there will be an initial impact in crew proficiency (if going for the 10% XP loss) or your gold savings (if using that) but on the long term there shouldn't be a dramatic difference from live. While credit retraining is now 5x more expensive (or more) you can now have three different vehicle proficiencies trained simultaneously, while also getting significant bonus experience with that crew thanks to Instructors (who give 10% to 20% bonus XP each). The XP loss should be more than negated with Instructors, even if the player lacks Premium Tanks to retrain with. For "small fry" crews with minimal perks and skills on Live, the impact is negligible to begin with; the only "big losers" in terms of XP will be highly trained crews with 4 or more skills.
