It's a workable tank, until the moment you want to shoot something. Gun handling is absolutely atrocious, and pen is even worse for a t8. Armor is usually good, but it is really unpredictable. Sometimes you laugh at t9 tank destroyers bounce off you, the next some t7 heavy hits you at a ridiculous angle and still pens.

Wg, where is your infamous marketing strategy ? These offers should come up AFTER the buff, not before. 

 

The power creep has done it's number on this tank :

"powerful 122 mm gun packs 2,000 DPM and high alpha damage" - bad gun handling and abysmal penetration make those statements hilarious 

"good all-around bouncy armor" - it was once upon a time, but considering all the high pen premiums introduced in recent years and the gold spamming trend, it's really not anymore

"decent mobility" - fair enough, decent is a good word to describe the mobility

 

Still, with a little bit considerable amount of love, you could make the IS-6 great again.

 Very true. Some of them also apply to many tanks. Case in point, the Tog one from a few weeks ago also perfectly describe this weeks offer: IS6 - A Tank From Another Era ... of WoT

This tank has been obsolete since the entry of high-pen premium tanks.

it used to be a powerhouse, now its a joke.

You only meet other premiums in it and they can pen you no problem. While your own gun handling is a disaster no pen.

 

Its a bad tank, and it should have been updated like the 34-3 will be, 0/10 i would reccomend buying this tank.

For me it is still a decent tank. Doesn't meet t10s, with bond VStab the gun handling is acceptable, armor often holds against HEAT, mobility is nothing special, yet kinda decent. Standart pen is meh, so u often need to use gold, which results in less credit income.

I made one of my most epic battles ever with that tank (score was nothing special, yet surviving the brawl alone vs 3 t8 enemies including HEAT spamming IS3A plus ISU and Prog sniping at me was insane):

Very outdated tank, needs buff tremendously. Bad armor, bad penetration, bad accuracy, bad mobility = bad tank.
