So, WG, already looking for Chinese investors, maybe even a potential buyer for your mismanaged game? Whenever gaming company organizes tournament in China, it always ends up with a lot of shady business in the background. [edited]

I am only going to watch this if you have Daki commentating, but you need him to be a commentator actually at the event, where he can interact and 1to1 interview in person the competitors.

I think the only reason they picked China was so that the price pool could be set to 1mil in local currency.

Oh boy, before more people start attacking WG for picking China - WoT servers in China are owned by separate Chinese company, to which WG is licensing the product (they're allowed to make some modifications too), as by the Chinese law foreign companies don't have freedom to operate there. This event is most probably initiative of that company, they came to WG that they want to organize such thing and will pay all expenses - so why not?

If there would be company in Europe or US which would want to sponsor such event I'm sure WG could also strike such deal, but it's just not profitable as the gains are not worth the costs. In the past I remember WG was organizing some WGL finals in Poland, so as to Russian and European players would have close (plus Poland has years of experience in hosting events where Russia and Germany can settle their differences). But those events were not bringing the audience big enough that it was worth spending so much money. I remember Grand Finals 2016 in Warsaw, I was watching the final Hellraisers vs NAVI on Twitch, and there was like 3 to 4k people watching it live back then...

The whole branding and presentation aspect of it looks great, but unless the championship itself is fun to watch, I'm not going to care about it much.

Also, the whole China debacle speaks for itself, just look at the rest of the replies.

Greed will decide wether this event is successful or not, just a glance at the quarantine guidelines is enough to make me shiver - you're basically jailed for how long the quarantine lasts.

I'm happy to see some big "offline" tournement on its way again. I like to watch all those teams from different regions play against each other while being on stage. That will be really nice.

Guys and Gals,

I would point you in the direction of the forum rules. Do not discuss politics. This is a gaming forum not a political debating chamber.

Fix the game, no need for cash to be given to players. They're giving you cash and what do you give them? Bugs.

Really nice to pick China.

The underwear of 99.99% kids that post around here are made there...so why not.

Wargaming made it political by hosting a tournament in China, if I were you I would rethink for what kind of company I am working...
