Frontline crashed 2 times in a row and also i got penalties for that. WOW! It's amazing how u can't fix the game for blody 10 years. Seriously i'm impressed..  Also no main rewards in FL and you put tier 9 also. Now it's just a garbage event, but one thing is for sure, the activity in FL will significantly drop.

can anyone here already report on the tier IX tanks' influence on fun and credit income?

I've played 3 FLs today and my initial impressions:

 

  • I shoot no premium ammo, premium account enabled and I played in tier 8 till the end.
  • 21 minutes 11k damage won battle was about 250k excluding costs, I lost no tank and played the same tank till the end. 10k damage lost battle was about 180k in 20 minutes, I think 3 of my tanks were destroyed.
  • Credit income will still be higher in FL, because you have a chance to deal more damage in shorter amount of time than in random battles and you are deployed straight in the middle of a battle.
  • You can still play tier 8 until the end of a game and they are still able to penetrate tier 9 without premium ammo, since this mode offers open maps and it's easy to flank.
  • All tier 9 auto loaders are lethal and ideal for this game mode, unfortunately.
  • New consumables seem OK, but I have not unlocked all of them yet. Minefield seem to be useful tactically, when you want to block a bridge or a passage.
  • The game mode has not changed drastically, it's just an evolution.
  • BP points income is good, you can get 20 BP points in one 11k damage game.
  • Other rewards are just directives. Directives overall was and is a bad idea for the game, so don't care about those if you can't sell them for bonds.
  • Bourrasque is on sale, EBR 75 (FL) is not on sale:)
  • Only 7 days
  • Is FL dead? Not really, but it's nerfed. Addition of BP and tokens made SH and Fl game modes kind of pointless to play for rewards. As much I cannot tolerate SH, FL is better, but it gets boring after few matches anyway.

Personal reserves still works in FL ? (XP, credits, etc.)

Players can't personalise the way they use the combat reserves so much anymore. You can't assign reserves to the keys you want (unless I've missed something) and you can no longer pick many combinations that were possible in the old system.

quite big. pretty much after half game, you need to be in a t9 or your team will be in a disadvantage, so more costs, more expenses, no prem credit bonuses.

I'm only playing Tier 8 Premium Tanks in this mode with zero Premium Rounds..... When Tier 9 start getting involved, i switch to TD mode and play Passive/Campy, let the dmg come to me :)

Stop crying about tier 9s,there are few and only ppl Who have cooldown on all premium tanks use them. Fl is still good, u earn 200k+ credits even if u loose every 20m. Why u want more rewards? GO on random then for 60k income in 10m,frustration etc. There are no statistics, just silver grind

Regarding credit income strangely I think it might be even bigger, I don't know if there's any bonus for dealing dmg to higher tier but for sure there's more HP in the pool to be farmed, and the complete lack of grindable rewards removes the need to focus on ranking up to General. So now I just farm damage from the start whole battle using only regular ammo and Tier 8 premium tanks and it gives me more profits than in previous years.

 

Regarding fun, well it's funny watching all those people tryharding in their Tier 9's, lots of Phase 1's, Kunze Panzers, Char Futurs etc. Or people from the very beginning shooting full gold in their Tier 8's Progetto's... and then cry that credit income was nerfed... :D

 

The only thing is now it seems like it's much easier to win for the attackers, Tier 9's are more mobile and deal higher damage, it feels like destroying objectives is too easy for them, out of 5 battles I played the attacking side won 4 times, once the timer expired because we were not interested in winning and we had mostly Tier 8 premiums farming credits, while defense had a lot of Tier 9 heavies.

 

All in all if you don't mind having to fight against Tier 9's and you can handle yourself, Frontline can still be more profitable than Randoms, and the fun is not gone completely, although the rewards could be nicer because other than credits there's not much gain.

thx for the input. maybe I'll reinstall and grind some credits. after all, it's the currency WG "hates" the most, and there is nothing else to be gained from FL currently.

also, FL not counting towards your stats/PR makes it a lot easier to tolerate goldspamming enemies.

 

=> if you are spamming gold in FL, you're neither smart nor competent, and this goldspam might be indicative of other more prevalent issues in your life or your personality.

honestly FL with +- 0 MM was THE main feature of this once brilliant game mode mega Credits + fun (now err not so much

 

last 2 years FL got worse and now this?

FL is getting the usual WG €€€ treatment which will ruin it for most players and it will lose its popularity a lot :facepalm:

 

Battlepass campaign and the Freebie T9 reward Premium Vehicles are THE reason for T9 in FL (duh say what really? €€€ always wins with WG

does anyone know if it's possible to disable the ""tank role"" display in the garage and filter? I don't want to say it's a ret4rded "feature", but on the other hand, I don't want to lie to you.

WG, why don't you add other "useful" information such as "tracked vehicle" or "wheeled vehicle", or "point the gun barrel's loud end towards enemy" for people who don't speak tonk? :P

 

... I already regret reinstalling this ruski dumpster fire ...

Take the stupid T9s out of it. The overtuned premiums are already enough of a problem, no need to add those in as well.

 

Seriously, is WG actively trying to sink this gamemode because it is too profitable? Force players into that boring steelhunter mode instead?

And you ruined it.. no one wanted tier IX in fl, it's not fun when you are forced to take a IX tank so you can compete and it ruins credit income entirely

Also for some reason, i can't switch map regions anymore when selecting another tank, please fix this annoying bug

And after playing 8 matches, i only got the winter map, where is the map rotation?

Maybe their theory is that the tier 9s will allow the f2p players a better chance against those overtuned premiums?
