Someone will also flame gold ammo in this thread even though it's not even related.

At least people can make some informed decisions with existing crews rather than have the uncertainty, for example spending gold to reset skills or profession only for crew 2.0 to be implemented the next week.

I sincerely hope Crew 2.0 doesn't happen.

* Too much complexity for no good reason.

* Loss of value of existing crews that have been trained with hard work.

As long as Crew 2.0 is on the horizon, not one more penny to WG.

Horizon is always on sight. :sceptic:

Unless you mean Talbot. You don't see those everyday (anymore).

To translate this article into honest words: We don't want the negative publicity associated with Crew 2.0 impacting our sales during most crucial time of the year, especially Holiday Ops, you can forget about it for now, it won't be released for another half year. Buy tanks.

I love this section ...

Block Quote

 What’s next?

One thing you can be certain of—the new crew system will not be released to live servers for at least half a year.

Once we have processed all the data, we will need time to elaborate potential changes based on your feedback and collected information, then test them. All decisions regarding Crew 2.0 will be communicated and tested together with the community. This was, and still remains, the main condition for the release of the feature.

It gives the illusion that Crew 2.0 might not go ahead.

Here's how I read it ....

Crew 2.0 will be released in early 2022.

WG want 6 months to refine a few things, tweak a few widgets, twiddle some knobs and smooth off the worst of the rough edges.

But Crew 2.0 will be released early next year.

I just hope they provide a mechanism for merging crews.  Lots of us have 3, 4, 5, 6 crews PER LINE.
Several years ago I made a point of always having 3, for the tiers 6, 8 and 10 and occasionally 1 or 2 more if there were any "keepers" at tiers 5/7/9.

The only thing in the horizon are the dust clouds raised by the raiding hunnic hordes approaching...

"Mene, Mene man! Mene, mene! What we are going to do now?!?!"

"Maybe we could build a fire. Sing a couple of songs..."

... Or maybe is just The Attila the Hun Show. Always look on the bright side of life

yes delay it a little bit so you can earn all that sweet €€€ from the holiday boxes, after that people are free to quit when 2.0 is implemented the next week.

Can you please atleast make sixth sense free already? That was basically the only thing I really liked about the changes. Grinding a new crew without sixth sense while everyone else has it is really not enjoyable at all.

While I like some of crews 2.0 have some concerns about some parts and would really like to know the max possible crew under that system to determine my final opinion.

One part that does not worry me in the least is this idea of crews being wasted, because we will need fewer crews assuming we decide to pay and have one crew for 3 tanks.

Its a bit of a nonsense argument.

If you do not pay to create such crews then no crews are wasted assuming you have 20 good crews on 20 tanks you like playing you still have that after the change.

Personally I can see myself going for the 3 tank per crew option.

I can see myself taking the best crew in a tank line and retraining it for a 3 tank role, So my KV4 crew will be retrained for my ST1 and IS4, I really could care less about the crews currently in those tanks.

If they are decent maybe they will be used elsewhere in another line or lower tiers it really doesnt matter.

Right now each game I play in the KV4 trains that crew a little same for the other 2 tanks, but if I have one crew for all three then every game played makes all 3 tanks better.

I cannot see myself throwing away crews with 4 skills or better but all the 1 2 and maybe even 3 skill ones can go or just sit in the garage.

Crew 2.0 in general is a very good idea and I want it in the game, but without those things community didn't like.

My issues with crew 2.0 were:

  • Some skills were super OP, rework needed.
  • I didn't like those situational skills which sometimes work and sometimes don't depending on what's happening in the battle. They were really hard to follow and if you have a lot of thanks and crews, it was impossible to remember which situational skill you had in the tank you currently play and which you haven't. Remove that, it made a mess in the battle and made tanks OP in certain situations.
  • Remove those super skills. Just the fact that you have to select some useless skills you don't need just to get the super skill is a waste, beside those super skills were also situational.
  • 80+ progression which gives extra 15% handling bonus. Make it like 5% extra or set crew limit to 100 and nothing more. The last 20 points would be really hard to get anyway.
  • Instructors give extra skills above 10. This needs to change, either:
    • Make instructors to add skill points and crew xp, but to max of 10 skill points per skill. Do not assign skills to an instructor, simply increase pool of skill points for the crew, this way we will not be limited by instructor's selected skill and we will be able to move them without being limited to their skills.
    • Remove skills bonus from instructors and add handling bonus (0,5% for one basic instructor, 2% for one 2nd stage instructor, 5% for special crew) and crew XP bonus.
    • Or just add crew XP bonus with an instructor and nothing else. This is already a great bonus on it's own.
  • Allow for crew conversion to crew books. Make it so a free conversion will remove 80% xp, credits conversion will remove 90% and gold conversion will retain all xp. We have already spent 1000s of hours grinding those crews and now you want us to waste that xp?
  • Crew conversion to a new tank was too expensive for the amount of xp lost. 500,000 credits should allow you to retain 95% of xp, especially when the new crew seems to lose a total % of xp and not the base xp as for the current crew (notice if you have 5 perk crew member and you retrain it for 20,000 silver, that crew member will go back to 92% base training level and all 5 perks are as they were, which means current xp loss is very small)
  • 500 gold for crew retrain was a good price.
  • Crew multiplication was either a bug (feature) or a deliberate move for people to spend a lot of gold to make more crews.
  • Current 4 perk crew seems like a very good crew with the old system, after conversion to a commander it felt below average comparing to what you had. You didn't decrease this crew capability, but you have power creept it. It's like releasing a very good new premium tank and then buffing all other tanks by 15%.
