As an annoyingly positive and happy Wot player I decided  to try a new experiment . In games I play where a fellow player has a great game I send a post game message complimenting them . I often get messages back which are positive and happy . If everyone that reads this post did the same it would maybe improve a player's day just a little . Go on , try it chaps . Nothing to lose . Spread the love .

Tried that, but somehow I cannot send a message to myself.

It is a nice initiative. I tend to do it as well if someone supported me well, or did a smart move that helped tilt the game in our favour, or someone who simply played well. Always nice to recognize folks who did well, even if the game was lost.

Tend to get positive messages back as well.

You could just write how amazing you are  and just pretend you pressed the send button ;)

Yep I do that always have done.

Last time to a Lefe player who absolutely punished up us as we tried and failed to make use of a hill to shoot on his teammates.

we could hide but not spot or fire he had that covered.

Bonus is now I know roughly where to go on that map to do the same.or to look for the enemy SPG

As a counterpoint try not telling someone they were rubbish or had a bad game.

some don't care and the others already know

I actually do that when I'm not chat banned.

Sometimes I also voice my opinion on gameplay in battle, so I get chat banned a lot.

Here's something else. Try saying something in chat before the battle, like just ask people how they are, what are the doing except wot, seen any good movies, whatever. Or try to say something funny, like getting on mines and typing "New map?".

And when you do that every battle, and get back any for of normal human behaviour every 30 battles, you might wonder what the hell are they even doing.

And just for the giggles, in everything I wrote there the word "behaviour" was marked as wrongly spelled....twice....

I do it every so often but it's not always worth doing

since the person on the other end doesn't know enough English...

Assumes you're insulting him and starts swear back in the little English they have learned from chat. (Wich is usually not the most polite)

That’s American English for you.

Funny. I have been doing this since I started  playing the game. On my EU account I get replies of ‘Thankyou’ or something similarly positive for about 80% of the messages. Sometimes a good chat. Occasionally I will get a ?? or abuse if someone interpreted my message as sarcasm. This is very rare though.

The NA server (My main account) is completely different, I only receive replies at a ratio of about 20%, not even negative. A conversation is highly unlikely. I am guessing a lot of NA players have the convo function disabled. Having worked with Americans for the last 15 years, I can tell you they are quite affable so it’s a mystery why they hardly ever reply.

I personally have never received a ‘well done’ of any kind in game…..sobs

I often message someone if they've done well or helped me out and being able to copy/paste from chat windows to Google Translate is a pretty useful feature when it turns out they speak some euro-variant of Klingon so kudos to WG for including the ability to do that even if I suspect it was unintended.

What, messages like "well done Sir, I couldn't believe how lucky you were" or "good job there, considering you were playing against bots!!"

Which one is the proper way rather depends on where you live. The British had a surplus of u’s after the Napoleonic wars so we like to use them up.

Americans have too many Zs and Germans too many Ks

I do sometimes send a compliment post-game to those who have done well, including the enemy, and it is usually well-received and can lead to some decent conversations and sometimes some toons.

I found out that the best way to improve this game is by not playing it.

easy.

My advice is leave quietly and find something you enjoy . It isn't necessary to peddle your negativity .

I have disabled chat. I find that in those 30 seconds of countdown I can do something else on my phone...  so no thnx. Plus 90% of people playing the game dont understand english.

I remember one time me and an allied teammate both typing and sending a compliment to eachother at the same time.

One of the most wholesome moments ever. :teethhappy:
