TD gameplay mean never help until game over. When game over run into enemy like screaming monkey and die.

You forgot to add taking loads of abuse from other players.

And spamming "OMG zombie bot noobs, go spot!!" in the team chat on repeat. :great:

Stealthy Lights are my favourite and I’d happily play those all day.  Next would be snipers, then fast Meds (I play Cromwell as a heavy scout) but, like Steeleye, I wanted to research and play every tech tree tank (achieved) as by playing them, you get to understand how to defeat them.

Also, missions etc. require different classes, so I keep every tank I have a 52% (or more) win rate in, as they might be useful.

I play only meds and heavies, I avoid lights as there is too much pressure for me to perform well when I'm the only light,TD's I avoid because they are not dynamic enough ( most of them ).

No he was supporting those Tds ;)

A problem with numerous lines was that you had to train all those incompatible crews. Easier now.

MoE are player performance based, this just means that nobody with that much effort plays the cavalier.

Dissagree!

You cant tell for sure  that nobody good plays it, or maybe Its just me beeing sooooo damn good.

Because there is just no certain  way to tell what is it :)

Wouldn't make much sense as classes don't really mean much. You can focus on certain playstyles (e.g. scouting, sniping, brawling, ...) and then concentrate on tanks suited for that playstyle, but those tanks can potentially be found in any class (outside arty). For example someone that likes scout gameplay might still be interested in certain TDs and Meds (Heavies are unlikely though) with high mobility and/or camo.

Interesting thought and i get what you mean. I like speed, camo, stealth and an accurate gun. Now just to find the right tanks.

I recommend to try this, a turretless LT.

There is one tiny german tank that fits that description like a glove, but you have that already.

Hadn't thought about that but that would be mitigated by keeping my premium/reward tanks of the other classes.

I play mainly LT and MT, as that's the tanks I go to first most often. But I still play other classes, inc arty to understand them to name one. Playing arty have thought me a fair bit about their blind zones vs where they fired from etc when I'm hit. As not all arty have the same shell arch etc. If I only had LT and MTs in my garage, I suspect my tactics for different scenarios would have been different. Even if I did keep all my HT and TD premiums etc, as the style there is still not as wide as what the tech tree has to offer.

Me playing a TD or a HT and facing meds or lights is still learning me a few things. And I hate HTs, but still play them now and then just for that to name one.

The thing is, there are heavy tanks that play like mediums, mediums that play like heavies, heavies that spot better than lights, lights that bounce as well as mediums, etc.

Basically there can be no specialization by class as the classes are so varied.

However, you can focus on certain aspects; use of armor, vision specialist, autoloader expert, etc.

For example, lately I have been focusing on tanks with an OK base view range, with a fairly fast single shot reload and a standard ammo pen which allows a chance when facing tanks 2 tiers higher.  I do this as these characteristics seem to offer me the best enjoyment.

So, this means I may be playing a TD, heavy, medium or light, but it will be a tank that meets the above requirements.

In a way I am specializing, but not by tank category.

Warning nitpicking!

Specialization and to focus on something are two pairs of shoes.

Specialization results in expertise. In this manner I assume:

  • there only very few commanders that are able to consistently gather good LTing (inital spots, dmg assisted) results while commanding an HT.
  • there are no commanders that are able to good HTing results (armor use efficiency) while commanding an LT.

I'm wondering, are there players out there that have chosen to limit themselves to one or two classes they feel most comfortable in?  And i mean real focus, so hardly any tank of the other classes left in your garage. And if so, how did that work out for you? I know there are dedicated arty players but wat about the other classes?

I'm asking this because i noticed that i enjoy TD and LT gameplay much more than HT or MT. I think i could easily choose TD's as main focal point with LT as support (for variety) and still have lots of fun. Right now i have millions of credits and some solid crews invested in tanks i hardly ever play and when i do play them i struggle big time in them. So after 30k battles i'm really wondering why i still press battle in e.g. my Panther or Tiger when i can have way more fun and succes in a TD.

Also i've noticed that it's very hard for me to get better in the game while playing this wide variety of tanks in different classes. I mean, i really love my AMX 13-75 but haven't played that more than 1 battle here and there for quite some time. I know i could do way beter when all those other tanks in my garage weren't trying to get my attention too.

Any thoughts on this?

It helps to understand every class to be a better specialist in one, much like when you play one tank you learn it's pros and cons and when facing it can potentially use that knowledge to your advantage.

There is a symbiotic relationship between them all if you want to just specialise in one class or subset within that class eg assault TD go for it, you have the patience to play TD's and you get to say "go spoot noob light" also!

tomato.gg has the Cavalier having the lowest 3 mark requirement @ 1035 per game and the Panzer IV/V the highest @ 2578 per game. Even the 1st mark on the IV/V has a higher req than the Cavaliers 3 mark numbers.

Even if those numbers arent 100% accurate they will be a very good indicator of the relative performance requirements.
