Yet another RIP OFF sale.

 

Astron Rex is a medium tank for sale to me at £30.19.

 

Most other tier 8 premium medium tanks are for sale for about £22.

If you would have played the dinosaur, you would understand, that this comparision is quite wrong.

Astron has horrible gunstats (aimtime, accuracy, dispersion and intra clip reload, to name a few) so it doesn't stand even close to the level of harm what waffle did in the past.

Gun stats look horrible, that pen... I'm not sure how it works in Tier X matches. Aim time, dispersion, everything. I am waiting to see what will owners say.

Ouch, I guess I'll just stick to Progetto. 4 seconds intra-clip reload time doesn't bother me, I actually enjoy how that works with Char Futur, but it's gun is just completely from the other universe.

it is not....

 

gun is best ever if you want to miss a barn from 100 m

 

inter clip reload is brown

 

combined with aim time, dispersions...and 190 pene on level 8

 

and very prone to internal module damage + track 

 

...the only good thing is tank's mobility but only with turbocharger and even in that case not always

 

....tank rated BAD

IS 3 has 390alpha

Rex has 320alpha

70 less, but imagine IS 3 SHOOTING EVERY 4 SEC..... 

5 shots are tooooo much....even with 4 sec reload is too much for TIER 8

Standard pen isn't the problem, Bourrasque works just fine with the same 190 base pen with worse normalization (APCR) and only marginally better shell velocity (1000 vs 945).

IMHO the Astron's issue is that it has bad camo (BiA, paint, full camo skill and camo boost from field mod gives a total if about 32%), and the ultra-slow intraclip reload plus bad on the move gun handling means you have to plan your ambushes or snipe rather than just yolo, dump 720 and run away like Bourrasque does.
 

I'm interested, skipped the initial event with the tank and did not know it was available in the convoy event until it was too late, and I don't mind working up a crew specifically for this tank (another issue, no other American MT has a 3-man crew afaik).

Looks like anyone who enjoyed or was able to make T69 (USA Tier 8 medium) work, should do even better in Astron Rex... but oh my that dispersion value. It was a long ago I played T69, and the meta was very different.

Prices go up little surprise there the Type 59 cost me just over £12 back in the day.

Older tier 8 mediums are arounf £20 newer ones more and this one £30.

I am amused by the bundles description the basic tank is now described as a bundle of 3 items

Took me a minute to realise bundle means the tank crew and garage slot.

So the other bundles that have 9 items are really 6 items.

Dear WG a garage slot is not a bundle item you have to give one of those and the crew is not part of a bundle either unless its a special ie BIA crew.

 

I have this tank though not played it yet might try it out in frontline first.

Given its stats and some other new tanks Cobra for one and the caliban thats coming I see a common theme.

The tanks are ok but not great, they might be good once you add new improved equipment and fine tune them with field mods,

Maybe thats the plan bring out average but interesting tanks and let us make them good  or at least better.

They're different tanks. T69 has unusually high DPM for an autoloader and that's its main gimmick, Astron on the other hand has a huge clip burst but it takes forever to unload, enemy has to be AFK or distracted for you to have 16 seconds to empty the clip in their [edited].

Doesn't change that taking one hit in exchange of landing five seems like a good trade.

And if you give me a present, I won't play with it to break my nerves with such rubbish. It's the same and the Renegade was supposed to be a great tank to be great everyone measured in the tumor hahaha. Don't cause yourself this hell.

Don't listen to advertising agents but just think if you want a tank that every time it appears on the line you see first this ugly messy growth that has 120 mm armor hahaha

Odd crew set up....seems the best crew is the tier 2 T2 Medium, and even that isn't an exact match.

But WT had 2s intraclip vs 4s (on AR) and big alfa with better than decent gunhandling

I like this tank. Very similar playstyle with Char futur with worse mobility but better armour.

+ alfa, clip potential

+ mobility but worse acceleration

- basic penetration of 190 (gold is fine)

- 30 ammo capacity (forget blind shot) + 31+ sec reload (ok DPM for such clip though)

+/- Trollish armor

+/- Okish camo

 

Overall fun and very interesting tank, kind of unique

I hate advertising agents the most
I don't know how much they pay you but every normal player knows that a tank with a tumor is not worth it Potential damage hahaha it's a laugh first if you play only with gold let's say so for one cartridge of 5 shells you give 25000 and in the end it turns out that for a cartridge of 5 shells if you hit twice it costs you 12,500 per projectile I don't know how much for that but I think it's absurd nonsense equal to stupidity.

 

The most important thing for a tank, no matter what it is, are three things.
1 how the weapon behaves if it is around a maximum of 0.32 super over this is already nonsense.
2 speed if a tank is slow it is useless directly in the bucket.
3 Armor does not matter how thick it is but how beveled and what slope it has.

In conclusion.
Always one if you have to sacrifice two.
But only the broken tanks have 3 of them Those who are from Clan battles or Rank battles or reward from tasks.
So I'm glad it's just them otherwise if they start bullying non stop broken tanks then I don't see which idiot would play this game hahaha
