Using an AMX40 at the moment, have to toget higher tier. Got all the upgrades, gun, track enginr etc. But this has to be a joke. The thing is increadably slow, especially on hills, 6KMH. The gun is useless, Around 1 damaged tank per 5 shots on average. The armour is totally shite.Usually up against 6,7,and 8 tier tanks. One or two shots...all over. I,m getting around 150 exp. points and I need 12,000 to make it to next tier tank. Come on WoT, it would be nice to be able to compete a little. Just finished one game, and I raced, ha ha, to oponents base, and the game was all over before I got there. Didn't get a chance to fire a shot!! Seems to me this game is generally for those that spend money. The rest of us just keep being outgunned, outarmoured and outrun.

AMX 40 is shit. Either free-xp it, or grind through asap.
The fun on the french light branch starts at tier 6, or so I was told.

Tier 5, AMX 12 is a good tank imo. Just get the doubles on the AMX 40, and use as much free xp as possible

Yeah, this one is the worst tank I've encountered in WoT by quite a large margin.
Even fully upgraded it is pitiful. The speed is a joke, armour is okay except it won't protect you against most at tier and above enemies. But the real kicker is the gun with mediocre damage, next to no penetration and low reload for a gun in its class. And it's HE lacks any sort of punch too. The gun is so crappy that many low tier opponents that might struggle to penetrate will still frequently out-shoot you.

If it can be given one thing, let it be a serious speed boost so you can at least manoeuvre to make up for the many, many deficiencies of this hunk of junk.

He bounces too much shotten from this tank gun and speed is almost nothing. I got tired of this tank so much, I even don't play any battles for double XP or any XP multiplier. It just stands in my garage. Don't know when I will drive that thing again. I have enough Free XP to skip it but somehow I don't want to use it now.

While it is shite against tier 6+, it's not that bad in same-tier battles, once you get the hang of it...
(And don't say "every game I get into is 6+ plus" because that will be a lie.)

Though I do agree with skipping it using free exp if you really don't like it

Aye she is a pig to drive, but luckily i have had 5 games and 100% win rate on my daily doubles with her    not long to go now

IF it had betetr MM it would actually be a fun little tank, but MM thinks all tier 4 light tanks are scouts, how can something that can't reach full speed on a level surface be a scout??

You do not know what you are talking about

AMX 40 does not have the same matchmaking as a Leopard, Leopard gets into higher battles.

When you end up as highest tank with your AMX40 it is fun. Nearly nothing can harm you. 80+ hits with hardly any HP loss are normal in those matches.

No, I don't understand french but that skin is a must have for every AMX 40 commander.

I somehow liked it... but only if in top tier which was really often while everyone rushed french tanks.
It´s really a bouncing wonder and I made many people rage while playing it

Yeah all the lower tier french tanks are horrible.

makes me wonder how the hell do they want to get new players when all the low tier provides is frustration and absolutely no fun.
didnt used to be like that though but now with french tanks its just poitnless.

well this is the problem fix the MM for it then WHEN the MM is fixed for it nerf the armor as most low tier cant damage it and ither that gun hits an takes away 50% hp or misses so low tier french is a bit OP im not whining it just hard killing them in my luchs it hard to shot on the move and its gun aint accurate and be for you start yelling at me look at my games on the luchs

amx 40 is very good. you need improve your base skills. because later tanks @ french tree need advanced tactics for use.

No. Simply no. The AMX40 would be good if it had a gun which could do any damage to equal Tier enemies. Yet the gun has even problems damaging enemies lower than you.
Also, the later French mediums play completely different than the AMX40, so this tank does not teach you anything useful for later.
