Hey guyz I'm looking at getting a T-34. Is it any good? How does it compare with it's German counterpart the PZIV? What modules should I research first? Any help is appreciated :)

Its fast, really fast, and with very accurate zis cannon its kills KV-1, 2, even Tigers. PZ IV is easy frag for me on it, with lovely zis and 100% crew, off cource. Also, any arty in your sight and any light tanks will die fast :)
But DO NOT stop. If you stopped, you may die really fast. Its sloped armor can save you with ricochet, its may happen few times in battle, but better circle fast around your enemies than just stay.

Fast shooting, accurate, fast moving tank which can inflict enough damage for killing many other medium tanks and some heavy.
With skill and luck you can kill Panther, for sample.

a t-34 with 57-mm ZiS-4 is a great tank, you could snipe at long ranges or dogfight tanks, imo one of the best T5 tanks beside the KV with 107er.

I think I had better results in T-34 than I do with VK3601H or VK3001P. The T-34 is VERY agile. Low profile makes it hard to hit. I would go screaming in and put auto-aim on my target and then circle them to death. The 57mm ZiS-4 doesn't do a lot of damage, it fires so fast it is like a swarm of wasps hitting something. Overall, I think it is my second favorite Tier 5 vehicle (Hummel is the best Tier 5 vehicle at the moment).

Once playing the Tier 3 A-20 hell having a T34 is refreshing.

I went back to the T34 after the patch & even with the last engine to research the thing is slow... really slow.
I can rech the listed 50km/h only (!) going downhill & never while driving on a flat surface & in a straight line.
My crew is at 70+%.

I noticed similar trouble pre-patch with both the T34 & the T34/85. Am i doing something wrong?

I don't think acceleration really picks up until the crew gets above 75% to 80%. I have noticed that after 80% your acceleration (in any vehicle) gets noticeably better. Once I was at 100% in my T-34 I was zooming around with the Leopards and A-20s with regularity. I could keep up with most all the vehicles. The top speed on the T-34 is 56 Km/h and I hit that all the time. Like I said, I believe it is crew dependent. Crew skill doesn't affect top speed, but it does affect acceleration.

The T-34 is a really fun tank to play once you have it upgraded and got your crew to a decent level. I'm probably going to get this tank to keep when the release comes. Cons: Thin armor, narrow selection of good guns. Pros: The armor is sloped, it has one excellent gun (the 57mm ZiS-4, a rapid fire high velocity gun), it has very good mobility and turret traverse rate (at least with experienced crew), and it is very cheap to use, above all. It can't slug it out like the German counterpart can, but, it's much better with "shoot and scoot", "drive-by" or "dogfighting" tactics, whatever term you want to use. With this tank, speed truly is life... and the sloped armor helps a little bit too, as it has pretty high probability of bouncing enemy rounds.

If you try to stand and slug, this tank won't survive. But if you play it as a scout-killer/scout/SPG-killer or as a very mobile medium tank, using "shoot and scoot" and dogfighting tactics, it'll be lots of fun. Stay with your team's heavies and other mediums, do teamwork, and don't be afraid to engage even higher tier enemies, if you have your team's support behind you. I have brought numerous KVs, Tigers, some King Tigers and sometimes even inexperienced T-44s to their knees with this thing. Just use the mobility of the tank to your advantage: Never stop, and learn to shoot from the movement. The 57mm gun is sharp as hell and can easily hit nearby enemies in movement, making this tank an excellent dogfighting tank.

Yup. Good tank. You might even yearn back to it once you get your T-34/85, as that higher tier tank is somewhat sluggish, at least without all the upgrades.

T34 was excellent against low tiers. Higher tiers, it's crap, much like the Pz3. The t34-85... well the guns it starts with are crap. Just got the first 85mm, not sure how good that is, it keeps missing then I die.

with 57-mm ZisS-4 with AP you could penetrade Vk45 from side and rear, same for Tiger II and Tiger I could be penetrated frontal.

t34 is horrible at first. I didnt start having fun until crew got to 80% or higher. sad but true. by then there was the wipe. so i got my 34-85. t34 was quicker, but no firepower like a crappy scout. no going toe to toe with it. dogfighting is not an option unless you have lots of buildings to zing  by.  my t34-85 isnt up to the 80s yet so i cant compare yet.

I love this tank, only last night I had a 5 kills (full damage done by me and I lost one kill when the tank I was killing got killed at 5% from someone else) I ended up with 42k creds and 1.9k xp.  I usually get between 25-30k creds for a win and my win ratio for games on this tank is 65% which is way higher than any other tank I have.

Even on matches where I am low down I can hang back and kill the scouts then go and either support the heavies or try and sneak around and kill the arty.  I have finished off several KTs while playing 20% or so you can quickly take off by outmanoevering them.  Being such a small tank many tend to ignore you for higher profile targets as well.

My crew are at 97% I think at the mo with a Rammer and Vents installed on the tank, I am seriously considering keeping this tank once I buy the 34-85, I have already bought the SU-85 and the tank will be elite once I do.

Having played both German and Russian Medium trees I can tell you for sure that once release comes I am going Russian Medium tree. I will try to get to T-34 before any other vehicle and will not be keeping my A-20 either. The T-34 is downright incredible for it's Tier. I intend to go Elite with the T-34 and pick up SU-85, go Russian Heavy line and probably even pick up Russian Arty as well. But, Russian Mediums will be my focus and the T-34 is going to be seriously dangerous when there is a full wipe and every gets to Tier 5. I truly believe it is the best Tier 5 tank out there. The only Tier 5 vehicle that I think beats the T-34 is the Hummel.

T-34 is kinda cool tank, but you have to know your limitations. 57mm gun is awesome and the tank isn't prosupahimba, but personally I really like it. Also, it's great cashmaker.

Yeah, it makes money like crazy! Almost every battle is above 20K and once I got 6 kills with it. It's very fun tank to use(more fun than my Panther, IS-7, SU-152 and Leopard). And better moneymaker than all the above tanks.

In top 10 ten tanks on Discovery they have put the T-34 on nr 1 it is the history's "World Beating Tank" :Smile-playing:
In game it is just so fun and maybe the best of the medium class I have not jet meet a medium there so balance
Let the top 10 show why  :Smile_honoring:

Ok why is it that I can't turn in a T34...? It bleeds too much speed during turns. In the Pz3 I can run circles all day and still retain a good speed, but not the case with this tank. I am on the upgraded engine but crew skill is still low.
I really enjoy the PZ3 with the HE spitting 75mm snubnose, but it constantly gets pwned by T34s. That's why I bought the T34 thinking it's a good dogfighter. Is it not the case, or crew skill will make a really big difference?
