EDIT - Whoops, looks like WG have created two threads for this news - other one - EDIT
Finally, 6 months later....
From here;
The Russian only Android app has been around since September 2011 (link) I believe. (Although it's development might have been stopped here).
In fact, I think it has been around longer than the Russian iOS app (link).
So it seems that WG developed an Android version which they did not convert to EU/NA use, stopped that, then made an iOS version that is now being released on EU/NA as well as RU.
Sound about right? (It does for how WG seem to do development?)

People complaining about how this is a waste of time and that they should be working on the game (7.2) instead: This app was most likely not created by the team that works on the game/engine. My guess is that the web team made it.

Great but the market description is in Russian, perhaps some translators? Heh, I'd even translate to english and my native language if you want.

Excellent progress! Android is a big platform, and not to be missed.
One thing (wll proabably a lot of things) I would like to see on a mobile app would be garage management.
If you could do you tech tree research, maybe even buying equipment and such, in an app, that would be an super thing to do on your tablet while you are playing the game on your computer. Or you could do your management on the move, while in transit to work or school.
I'm sure it's not a trivial thing to ask for, and probably is not easy to implement outside the client, but it sure would make this a killer app for any WoT player.

Great app, just installed it and testing it now, so far no issues, as i'm reading my statistics.
One feature that i would like to see, if possible, the tech tree that you have in game and the ability to spend experience points.
