Sturmtiger... wont work?

Ive heard that the Sturmtiger will be in the game (premium TD EDIT: Arty, sorry), and from what Ive red from wiki, it will have a 380mm gun 
But, the biggest gun I'm avare of in the game now is the 240 mm Howitzer M1, and the 240 mm Howitzer M1 39,8% is only 39,8 of the size of the 380m gun. The 240 mm Howitzer M1 has currently with HE 2250 damage, so in theory the 380mm gun would have a HE-damage of 5653
That would, if it hits, almost all tanks in the game. So my calcuations are probably wrong and WG won't make it that powerful, but in theory it would be, right?

Damage isn't just a function of caliber, there's a lot more that goes into it. Either way, there are all kinds of parameters they can nerf to balance it.

Keep in mind its low Velocity, so accuracy will be all over the place, of course splash damage will be huge 
Also keep in mind its appalling ROF and low ammo reserves. I'd be surprised if you get more than two rounds off a game. Hell its hard enough to get several rounds off with a KV-2!

They mentioned something about horrid reload and short range, but very high arc of fire. Could be interesting.

Should be very interesting - they will need to balance this vehicle, but they will need to make it workable and not just in-game eye candy!

a 90mm gun deals 320 damage (with HE)
a 180mm gun deals 1700 damage (with HE) (5* as much)
a 360mm gun woud deal 8500 damage (with HE) 5* as much)
other examples
a 75mm gun deals 175 damage with HE
a 150mm gun deals 900 damage with HE (again, almos 5x as much)
the 380mm would deal round 9500 damage (with excel and some random gun values its possible to calculate back the, damage = shell size paramater that WG uses)
9500 damage with HE is just insane much, shooting within 5m of a tank would ALWAYS mean a 1 shot kill, and its wont be able to hit for splash...
the sturmtiger is just too powerfull, the same a modern tank wouldnt hit in wot, in real live a sturmtiger can 1 shot kill a modern MBT with ease, a 380mm shell is equal to a bomb dropped by a plane, yet this ``bomb`` doesnt fall, it crashes into the building/tank/whatever with 900 km/h, just the kinetic energy would blast a tank to bits
getting hit by this shell is equal to getting hit by a truck of 50ton driving @ 110km/h, yet this shell also says BOOM, and a truck wont (and the truck is big, and a shell is small

a sturmtiger can blast any tank, be it modern or old, to bits on direct impact, and those ww2 tanks would even get crushed by a ``near`` miss...
the only way to put this tank ingame is to nerf its damage to insane low values, but even if the tank would get 50% of its real power it would be massive OP, just drive it @ Himmelsdorf to camp alley, and wait till they come, with 1 shell u will kill 5 tanks, and u have won the match....

WG will probably find some ridiculous reason to put a 240mm gun on it or whatever was originally planned for the SturmTiger to tone it down, rather than the historical 380mm. Which was as much a gun as it was a rocket launcher...
And indeed it's an SPG not a TD wrong section.

I get your point, but think about it. A 380mm shell will, or should, demolish anything it lands near. Nothing would be safe, no Maus or E100 or town. And if it is that good, they will sell LOADS of them. It will be worse than the hoardes of types. This is the only tank I would consider paying real money for, just for the laughs. But the chaos this could make of high tier games...could be massive. So, WG putting the planned gun on it could be a easy balancing/get out clause. I won't buy it then ofc, but hohum.

The same applies to pretty much anything above 15cm. This is what a KT looks like when hit by a 152mm howitzer ,like the one on the SU-152 or KV-2:

So, it will likely be a short range arty with insane alpha, bur low rof, accuracy, ammo, short range, low speed, low mobility...
Add a limit to top tier games, and it ends up making one, maybe two shots, (ie, killing 0,1 or 2 tanks) and dieing in a fire. So, not exactly a gamechanger (or at least not moreso than the french)

Cool pic. But in the HP based WOT world, the 152 is painful, but not instakill brilliant. The 380 would be.
Agree 100% with your summary of it's attributes. But WG don't seem to want to set limits on tanks in battles (arty for example). So, say 3 or 4 of them, firing a volley at certain choke points, or popular defensive positions...well imagine the carnage.
Anyway, it's fun speculating, but we'll just have to see.

First of all the Sturmtiger was designed and used as a fortification destroyer , so I dont think it could be able to hit a moving target , though the splash could have done some damage
.Of course in maps like Himmelsdorf it would be seriously OP and that combined with its serious armor (150mm angled at 47 degrees ) could mean the ruining of high tier battles
. Most likely they would give it an accuracy of 0.7 or even worse ,so that direct hits should be hard to get , give it low HP , low traverse and small ammo count ,not to mention the low Rof .
We still dont know if it will be even added . I mean its mentioned in full tech tree , but It might not even be added .
Also at least the British tree when released will have a comparable tank , the Churchill AVRE with the 290mm Petard mortar ....

I don't think there will be any problem with this gun. Sure it can instakill anything in one shot, but after that it's dead meat like KV.
152mm DERP:
- 0,6 accuracy
- 3,5 sec aiming time
- ~22 sec reload
Now this 380mm rocket laucher will have even worse values than these, so I wouldn't be surprised by 1min reload even with 10sec aiming time, if it can deal 8-9k damage. It will be hard to play and as someone already said, it's already hard to shoot multiple shells with KV in one match. In Sturmtiger you probably shoot 2-3 max and it's over.
Don't forget that it's armor will be probably worthless like all german tanks here. Huge weakspots too and let's not even mention the huge gun on the front. Critical hit on gun every time if it's in TD mode.
