I'm talking about 1 gun per group of 4 or wooden weapons, not short on ammo (which becomes kinda unimportant at that point I imagine). Besides, it was not that late in the siege. But try to keep making excuses where there are none, if it makes you sleep better.

Ok, how's this: "My grandpa fought against the Wehrmacht and he never saw a working Tiger 2"

What the hell has that got to do with the massed infantry attacks being true or not true? You are just making up stuff as to not discredit the Soviet army.
"And wood comes from trees." Yes it does...still doesn't change the fact that the massed infantry assaults took place.

I'm saying what you're saying doesn't make sense. By your view of things, the Soviets were underequiped, undergunned, undertrained, had no ammo, wooden weapons, were complete idiots and actively sent their forces into meatgrinders, and yet somehow still won out because 'there was more of them'. Numerical superiority is not nearly enough. That same red army in the winter war was fighting against an underguned, underequipped force, and got owned hard because command screwed up. The US 1st army did similar (on a much, much lesser scale) in Hirtgenwald. It's not possible to win a modern war by zerging.
