The FV 432 are very cheap now, and it's technically a tank since it got threads & armor. A turret MG turret can be mounted as an option.

I think you can get one of those for about + - 2500-5000 pounds in England, the price differs in how maintained the tanks have had, obviusly.

It's called trafic control it's in neunen (near eindhoven) so you do not have to go to the UK for that. you can however drive a T-55 near berlin for about €220,- ;)

Last time I was at Duxford it cost about £10 to drive their FV432. Of course that was many years ago.

Or if you want to do the real Panzer thing:

Although don't read up on the FV432(T) before you go!

Nicely cleaned up AFV 432 Mk 2/2 there.

Still trying to convince my missus to let me buy one (I drove one for around 5 years as a Sapper).

Pretty easy to drive and maintain, modified into many roles in the British Army.

The paintball ones were previously part of the Berlin infantry Brigade and had turrets from the Fox Armoured Car fitted to them.

I think you can get one of those for about + - 2500-5000 pounds in England, the price differs in how maintained the tanks have had, obviusly.

If the thing was sat still, there woudl be some kind of maintenance going on with it.  These things had little expense spared on them - oil, consumables and driver fitted items were aplenty, major breakages saw the REME get hold of them and they'd come out all lovely and neat once fixed.

All 432s were maintained to a particular regime; you would be for the high jump if you cocked that maintenance routine up.  So, pretty much, there are no differences in how they were maintained.

Price variation is probably due to age and condition (amount of use in hours or mileage)not maintenance.  The other reason for price differential will be type of 432 as well, since there were plenty of different models and variations.

They were produced from the early 60s i think, in production for years and there is one variant (Bulldog) still in use, although to be fair, the 432 was really a donor shell rather than it actually being a real 432 with guts and all.

The Bulldog is the 432 Mk III, new engine and drive train are the main differences. No more arms like Garth to brake and steer the beast (not to mention that had to stop using asbestos brake brake bands in the steering unit).

Armour package for when it is deployed on operations improves its survivability.
