I 2nd that, both version work fine on 0.7.2.

Just needs the 2new maps to be added.

The one i did for the common test server 7.2 should have the two new minimaps already. ;)

Can you post it on this topic too, for easier downloading?

edit: Never mind I found it, but you can still post it here too  :P

I mean in your OP, since it works flawless in 0.7.2.

Just change your title into "0.7.1.1 and 0.7.2 ready".

No I have to repack anyway when 7.2 goes live, as the folder structure on the common test is different (res_mods\7.2 Common test\ vs. presumably res_mods\0.7.2.0\).

I can see some postings of confusion if I put either the Common test or predicted 7.2 version up in OP. (Worse even if I am wrong with my foldername guess.) XD

Great mod Locastan +1 from me  :Smile_honoring:

Question:

I would like to add some things to your maps for my clan. I am having a little trouble with the compression of the .dds files though. Currently I am using Gimp and to get the correct file size I used DXT1 compression, but my map (well your map, my small added extra's  :) ) came out black in the game. So is DXT1 the correct compression to use?

I could easily have made other errors too, so any advice i.e. mipmaps? needed or not? would be great.

Thanks in advance  :Smile_great:

Funny, MuleMobile from Historic Tankbattles Mod contacted me on the same problem. he too was using Gimp to ceate the textures. I use Adobe Photoshop with the Nvidia DDS plugin to create the minimaps: DXT1, no alpha, 32 or 24 Bits per pixel, no mipmaps. If you can't get PS, I think you can use IrfanView with corresponding plugin-pack to convert your edited minimaps back to DDS.

You have created a modder's, mod, it would seem Locastan  :)

Thanks for the info. Hmmm...... Gimp has a .dds plugin which normally works ok!? I was saving using the DXT1 compression, but I think it might have been saving mipmaps, and I might, stress, might not have flattened it. I think that's the term lol.

Ok I will try it again.

Thanks +1 from me mate  :Smile_honoring:

I have been playing on the test server and yesterday finally played live oaks and using your 7.2 version of the HD minimaps. All the other maps seem ok - the only problem I found with the Live Oaks compared to the original was that the shallow water wasnt shown properly.

Yes, you are right about that. I'll see what I can do with the map there. :)

I go the shallows fixed on live oaks now (did not upload the fixed version as there will be no more common testing soon).

Everything will be peachy when 7.2 hits us.  :Smile_great:
