I unlocked the T44 a few days ago and knew I had to get the LB1 to enjoy it, this afternoon I managed exactly that and I have to say I am impressed. I don't have the engines or radio unlocked yet, but even with the stock engine it is practically as agile as my Type 59 and seems better at accelerating which is my biggest gripe with the type. The LB1 gun is also better (as confirmed by others here) than the Type gun.

Compared to my Pershing I am impressed that the T44 has better frontal armour but I miss the gun depression, as expected, for the rest, gun-wise they are pretty similar in my opinion. Compared to my Panther II I like the fact that the T44 is considerably smaller and seems as agile with the stock engine, so I can't wait to get the top-engine. The gun is not a patch on the PII though, but that is also to be expected.

I haven't played the Lorraine, so can't compare it with that, but my impression is that the Lorraine is better in all departments except armour, but we all know the Lorraine is overpowered (But I haven't played it yet, so I can't confirm that knowledge!). As far as the infamous ammo-rack is concerned, I haven't witnessed any extraordinary module damage on the T44 yet, unlike the Panther II which suffers from ammo-rack, engine and crew vulnerabilities.

All in all it is a nice tank, I like all my four tier 8 meds, to me they are the pinnacle of the game, ideally balanced to not lose credits when played on Premium and offering a good deal of fun regardless of the opponents. I decided to stop grinding for the E50 and Patton to go for the Frenchies, which I have given up on for now, and the T44 and I am pleased with that decision!

The worst enemy of T-44 are IS-4 and E-100. All other tanks can be penetrated easily with LB-1 (Even Maus turret), and the T-59 has a huge weakspot on the front right next to amo rack lies fluel tank: It catches fire almost after every shot, and ammo gets damages before you can use consumble, firefighting skill etc. It gets on fire 2-3 times in a row, and T-59 ammo rack can be destroyed from the front, a bit above the fluel tank. Also to compare T-59 to T-44 is not really clever, since T-59 is a nerfed T-54 so it counts like a really really bad tier 9 with low hp and bad gun. Face it guys the money you spend on games doesnt make you good players, just help you with the money farming.

Bought it, played like ~10 battles and sold it. I like T-43 more, but T-34-85 is my favourite. Maybe I'll buy this bucket again in the future.

Decided to give T-44 another chance and bought it back. Have been playing German tanks and new American TDs (T49)+M4A2E8 recently. Sold all other Soviet tanks (T-34-85 & T-43), because I don't use them anymore. :)

I have just been ammo-racked by an SU85 from 400 yards, from full health to no health. That is the fifth ammo-rack since I started playing this thing :(

Yeah... It makes me hate the tank as well as love it. I never fitted a WAR to this tank though. F ck that using up a valuable slot... I Just won't on principal.

Is it hard/impossible to keep credits in balance on a normal account with T-44?

If you can make as much damage (or more) as you have HP in T-44 on average in a match, then you will (slowly) profit.

Yes the T-44 is costly tank, i agree. But he's a very pleasant to play. Even if i possess it since few weeks it's for me diffcult to play it with efficiency. At the beginning i was too much agressiv and i died fast. Now, with some wisdom, i progress. I love this tank and I am worried to get T-T-54 because the Remarks upon this tank are not good.

I benched my T54, transfered the crew back to the T44. Having a blast!
Forgot how fun this game can be.

I used to hate the T44 before the new gun and engine, it was easily the weakest tier 8 med. However with the new gun and engine it is a fantastic tank, I love playing with it, the change in gun accuracy imho was really need because you could never hit on the move with the old gun unless you stuck it in the enemy. I would still advise getting WAR and I still get ammo racked a lot but I very rarely explode. All in all great fun, great gun, good speed, great manoeuvrability and a joy to play. Armour is weak but I think that makes it balanced and not OP.

Only if you win and don't use items.

i havent even got the turret, just the tracks and i like this tank very much even though the stock gun is just a pain... if i hear another "we didnt even scrached them" on a T29´s front i will bite in my keyboard...
but i cant wait to get the turret and at least the 100mm cannon.

@D4nny
i am a passionated Chaffee player and it has just 137mm penetration and i annoy many tanks if i can get a shot on their sides. as for the T-44 i think it wont be any different. i think you should be agile enoughe to peek around a corner and shoot them before they even know what they hit them.
but these are just thoughts of mine and if im incorrect please correct me ;)

@jup331 you are spot on, as the true med that the T44 is, your bread and butter is getting in on the sides of other tanks and hurting them whilst they are distracted. Having said that, I don't find the pen a problem, I still manage to get weak spots on the front of most tanks.

Just got the LB-1. Not much different from D10T, but it's faster. And the pen is not a problem for me as I got used to it.

It's more accurate as well :)

Well dunno about you,but the only things that i can't penetrate are IS-4,Maus.All other tanks i can pen without trouble from sides and rear :)

P.S. This is the best tank ever in terms of fun and i still don't have different engine from the stock one :)

I keep getting my gun taken out and tracked by frontal shots making me spin allot. I think this tank is going to be fun and only did 3 matches with it but jesus weak modules is the reason i trashed my panther and panther2.

Two main problems with this tank for me - tracks and turret/gun. My turret and gun like to jam most of the time. :( And tracks... well they... they like to be cut off from my tank.
