is it just me who thinks that the 175 pen. is really not enough? :S i love this tank, but that pen for a T8 is just rubbish...
I can't think of many tanks that have 175 mm side/back armor, which is where you're firing I'd hope. If not, aim for weak spots or stop fighting heavies head-on. No hull down matches with americans either.

Pick your fights carefully, and if you feel like you'll lose, you relocate. You're a medium tank.

Nah, he's right.

T-44 best point is the accuracy on the move but you will still get alot of dings vs bigger/same tiers sides if you don't aim very well.
Also, since the pen can be even alot lower than 175 due to random value, some shots are bound to fail no matter what... ( i once managed to ding a kv 3 times in a row )

And the damage you do is not that hot, lb is still just a tier 7 cannon...

Bouncing a KV-3 with a 175 pen gun is harder than not bouncing it. If you aim properly it shouldn't happen. Even if you're moving, you can aim for the lower hull. Just don't use auto aim.

Don't know about you,but yesterday i made two penetrating hits in a row in a MAUS side for about 20-30%(total dmg),so i say 175pen is enough for a medium tank in this tier.

This is plain stupid.

T-44 average damage is 200something on the big guys, to do 1k you have to get the fire or something... and you can't pen it reliably a maus side to begin with.

So you just got very lucky.

I guess i was also very unlucky to ding kv ( the tier 5 ) frontal turret and hull 3 times in a row from 20-30m...

Balancing is about average performance, not extreme ones...

T-44 cannon is the weakest of the lot, you can't really argue that. ( excluding t59 but that's op tank due to turret )

Actually the penetration of the gun varries from 131-219,so it is possible(and i just did it twice in a row - well i had luck yes,but it's far from impossible),and i never said that i did 1kdmg to the maus.Just do the math maus has 2800HP and 10% from that is 280*2 = 560(and i never said that i did exactly 20-30% but ABOUT(around) 20-30%).Also the damage varries from 173 to 288.

Also yes the gun on the T-44 is the weakest from all meds, but it's not that bad.The only gun on this tier i consider a little OP is the gun on lorraine 40t.

PS. I don't expect the luck to be on my side every time, but the tank is not as bad as you picture it.Actually it's the tank in which i had most fun :)

Bought this after event farmig i made. First 4 game, i ammo racked from full hp to dead. Not playing with it anymore, some 2x and so but not much, pretty much useless tank for me. I even wasted free xp on turret and such to able mount d100 on it with hope it to be decent then (stock gun is 120pene 160dmg at tier8, i mean.. really..) but no, bad tank is bad.

It's you who's bad with it.

The tank is good as long as you try not to take hits with it. Yes, sometimes you get ammoracked, but that happends to every tank.
T44 ammorack is not a problem anymore, if you got ammoracked 2 times under 5 games, it's just bad luck.

If you get ammo racked a lot, you're probably a terrible driver that doesn't even know where his ammo rack is.

Yea, prolly i'm just too bad and shoting my own ammo rack, that should be only reason why i'm 15/20 games 1shot ammoracked.

Totally agree with you. I rarely get ammo racked and as I said earlier I don't use any of those consumables things.

Guys it is true that ammo rack is a problem with T44, but no1 said there are multiple solutions. 1, Buy Wet Ammo Rack (WAR) 2, On loader use perk: Safe Stowage 3, The right side of the tank is a big ammo rack, so try to show the left side of it. I don't have T44 anymore but i loved it and i barely got ammo racked and i didn't use WAR nor perk....

Yeah,  I just got it and after 18 battles I can only agree....I love it!!!  I think I finally found a nice tank that fits my style of play.

However, I did get ammo racked twice in a row, so got the wet ammo rack and it hasn't happened since then.

I have an avg. of about 800 XP per game, by far the most of all my tanks till now.

Hopefully it stays as is.....

Or the person shooting at you knows where to aim???

And you're going to let him drive around you to get to where he needs to be to shoot it?

I've managed to avoid that for the 75 battles I've driven it. And my win/survival/hitrate should tell you enough about the fact that it doesn't hinder my performance, even if luck is involved.

And that means taht you only fight tanks one on one....Sometimes there is a second tank shooting at you also......

If you're in a situation like that you relocate. Chances are you'll die 1v2 either way whether your ammo rack blows or not.

As you can see in my signature, it took me 77 battles to screw up and reveal my right side to a Tiger II. And that was me not paying attention and screwing up, not a problem with the tank.

Ofcourse there's cases of bad luck and mistakes, but the ammo rack on the T-44 is not much of a problem. With a 49% survival rate after 90 battles I'm pretty sure I'm doing something right.

That's just crazy ! T-44's aren't supposed to survive that many battles. I'm sure you are just hiding all the time :)

No, just kidding. That is impressive. I have more than 1000 games in the T44 and my stats are abysmal. I'm sure my happy-go-lucky driving style has more than just a bit to do with that, but I can't imagine how I could get that kind of a survival rate or xp average...
