Are you sure you are using the AMD gpu, instead of the crappy internal one?

Just re-install windows from scratch, simple as that!

Totally the wrong pc to play this game.

Your problem is your computer probably.

Quad CPU

New GPU

These things are so bad for world of tanks due to its very poor single core support it doe snot support anything more than 1 core at least from what people have been saying anyway.

Try going into overdrive and put your setting down low see if anything changes your card s probably so powerful its bottlenecking the game making it render useless.

Anyway report back we need more information on your part not just your specs.

I really think you should doublecheck you're not using the Intel integrated videochip when playing World of Tanks. The performance you see is more or less that you'd get if you would.

I know it's kinda off-topic but this is a HUGE flaw in WoT's design.

What kind of a company makes a game that is ONLY playable smoothly by single core computers?

Or are modern Russians that WG caters for still using Soviet computers?  <_<

Just out of curiosity, how would you check that? And how can you change to using the other video chip if you find out you are using the integrated one?

the I7 960 doesn't have an integrated gpu and i have never seen a skt 1366 motherboard with onboard gfx so i doubt that is the problem.

i think it is probably more likely to be a driver issue with the 7970 being very new and i doubt World of Tanks is high on AMD's priority list for adding profiles to their drivers.

maybe trying a different driver if you can find one for your card will help.

Where is your monitor plugged in?

Anyway, I seriously doubt you are using the onboard graphics, more likely, as people have said it's the fact that WoT does not make good use of multiple cores, so your multi core CPU is in effect a not so fast single core.  It also doesn't make use of latest graphics technology so most of your uber graphics power is wasted.  Turn down the in game details and see if it improves.

For this game mate not the other games it does not matter if your getting more fps in other games.

World of tanks does not like new hardware my pc is better than yours and it plays this game horribly to a point where i just wont play it my laptop is 2 years old and plays this game better than my desktop what kind of bullshit is that please ?.

Anyway i hope you get sorted.

This wont get better unless someone decide its time to leave medieval age & include multi core support!
my fps is 20-35 mostly with i5-2430M, only thing that gives u roughly 3-5 fps is setting top priority to WoT in Task manager

lets face it the game was developed on an engine from 2000 and programmed with windows xp systems in mind apparently thats the standard in belarussia ...

Even tho i have multy core processor on my laptop , not so strong as your guys, i still have 50-70fps, running windows7 home, and 512 ati radeon (dedicated) graphic.

Tho if i put all to max, i do have problem with as its using single processor, my fps drops to 25-35..

most drop in FPS i have is when laptops heats up and fps drops about 30% , but i solved it with buying cooling pad and now i have no problem with fps, but still have to play it on minimum to get most of it as having it on high details gives me trouble when i m in zoom and get shoot , probably smoke and other stuff to blame, my fps drops drastically..

anyway, i since i got this cooling pad my laptop runs much much better than without it.

damn, after writing all this i realize you are not using laptop but desktop :/
well hope you dont mind if i post it as maybe someone has same problem with laptop and as i was unsure if cooler would help, well it helped me a lot.

cooling helps if you have overheating but wot tends to hug a core and strangle it to 99% capacity just for the heck of it i tested this  phenomenon on my quadcore a while back regardless of the ghz wot ALLWAYS eats the whole capacity 2ghz 3ghz 4ghz no difference  i dare to say thig game is not optimized AT ALL

I've been away from WoT for a month or so, and after coming back and patching 7.1.1(b?) I've started getting loads of lag and low FPS. My ping is still about the same as it used to be but FPS has dropped from over 50 to somewhere around 15-30. Doesn't seem to matter what time of day.

No hardware changes or new background processes.

I've even gone into the graphics settings and turned most stuff off or down from high to medium or less, and it still persists.

I'll give WoT Tweaker a try and see if that makes any difference but, from talking to ingame friends, it sounds like a newish problem for a good few people.

Hope WG recognise the problem and optimise things a bit better for 7.2

My computer can play Crysis 4 in supermaxultra no problem, but WoT still has minimum framerates of 35fps at some maps. Ruinberg is horrible for instance...

I suggest you fiddle around with the graphix settings.
Try this: It runs 120fps on my computer, with a minimum of 60 fps on that crap Ruinberg map.
