A free game has nothing to do with in game "fairness". Just because the game uses a F2P business model does not mean they have to sell power.
But we all know if there is a way to get an advantage vs opponents by throwing money at it; there will always be people who do it.
I hope they start selling anti-tank missiles and RPG squad consumables next. Since you know, you wont have to use skill and aim at tank weak spots or flank; it will offer better penetration like gold rounds.

...and once again, it's a business.
I honestly think when it comes to Premium/Gold items this forum is divided between.
A) People who are too young, live with their parents and don't earn and income
It's not a social enterprise out to make the community happier, its a business out to make a profit and by making a profit they need to trade. Giving you an incentive to purchase their goods is a way of them making a profit. It is simple business, you start the game knowing what features are there.

I fully agree with all the business arguments, but recently WG truly fu**** me and my clan because of the CW server downtime some days back. They are not willing to refund the money spent on gold ammo, or the ammo itself. All efforts were in vain, because the final fight could not be resolved due to unplanned downtime.
If they were a serious company they would refund their paying clients what they paid for, because it was their fault.
I will actually sue them for this and will publicate everything.
Enough is enough.
A "business" that doest care for clients legitimate demands is no business for long WG will learn it the hard way, some day.
Its like going to the cinema, payinf for it and then the film machine breaks down 20 minutes before the end and they tell you sorry, according to our T&C you are not entiteled to any compensation.

Unfortunately due to the nature of MMOs WarGaming are not likely to suffer if a few people decided to close their wallet because a 100 new people will open theirs.
Also the transactions made with real money are for gold or gift tanks, not consumables/ammo/credits/XP so they can do what they want. It takes the piss yes, though the whole T&Cs covers them. Furthermore their argument was that you still used the gold ammo during the normal battles and therefore it was used for its purpose consumable ammo.

Hi!
Bad sign for the future of the WoT. This usually happens when the game is at the end of its life cycle - developer tries to "milk" from it whatewer it can, before abandoning the game.
Stop bothering. Do as I did: stop playing, get another game that will keep you interested. WoT, after playing for nearly 2 years the same game again and again, just isn't fun anymore. I still think it's a pitty. Some new game modes would do soo much...

People who work, understand the value of money and how businesses operate

but usually there is a so called "balance" between how much you can milk players with a good amount of cash to spend and how to keep the game somehow balanced.
Penetration is one of the most important factors in a gun/shell performance.
shooting a shell with 380mm pen (T110 gold ammo), can fairly penetrate anything. with that amount of penetration, you can aim for ammoracks even at really stupid angles (is7 case, shooting the headlight from front, you can hit either the left or right ammorack in the frontal zone of the hull or even the left or right ammoracks under the turret in the hull sides).
you can easly penetrate the frontal E100 turret (you can do it even with a normal shells BL10 but doing it with an assault heavy tank....)
surely even gold ammo can bounce or do 0dmg penetrations, but needs really a bad shot.
do you all know why the T110 have 380mm pen and a fast rate of fire? obviously to make it a good gold shooter with enough rate of fire to make you burn gold ammo really fast. the 50B or batchat can really do disasters with APCR and revolver magazine and also fill pretty fast the WG pockets.
now, someone entering world of tanks now, will get a moderate beating from 2 years WoT veterans... so is going to either keep improving or using gold ammo. Was not like this when the game gone live the late 2010. neither in beta where we had 200 (if i remember correctly) free gold a day. people stashed a silly amount of gold back there and the gold shooters were really few.
the key is balance between profit and fair gameplay... is going to break. WG never cared much about that, players did (by not spamming gold 24 7 in randoms)

Dude always pay with PayPal, if they didn't deliver your gold do a charge back and you will notice their support waking up and start agitate. When you will force the Finance guys to return some cash, they will look inside their company for someone to blame
.
Is just how companies work

lol, the person they will blame is you and they will freeze your WoT account until the dispute is resolved.
