Hi my question is simple wich one of those tier 6 tank destroyers is the best in your opinion. I know that with the new 7.2 patch there will be an add in the american tank destroyers for tier 6 is the m18 hellcat, now I haven't play the test server and all I know about it is that it has the speed of an t-50-2 and it has armour of paper. What do you think about the new tier 6 tank destroyer will it bring any changes to the game ? And please leave a comment about what do you think about all of the new tank destroyers coming with the next patch. :)

For me M18 is great. Good gun, turret and it's fast enough to reach good sniping spot or fast changing of possition.

I dont think the poor JagdPanzer IV will get many votes in this poll :(

Edit: i should clarify..i played the jagdPz Iv in beta and after release..and i dont think it is as bad as (most) people here on the forums make it out to be: it is,however, not as good as the other tier 6 TDs.(the only 1 i have yet to play,in regards to this poll,is the M18 "Hellcat".) The JagdPz IV does deserve a buff of some kind to the guns (imo it mainly needs better penetration ).

On occasion i get the impression that some people judge it purely based on the hate it receives here on the forums.

JpPz4 is not that bad really (from what I remember from it driving in BETA), but one cannot argue it's the best of the 3 cause it's not...

I didn't drive the M-36, but I prefer the SU-100 to the JPz4.

JagdPanzer IV is the only tier 6 TD I have played so far and it certainly won't get my vote. The 'accurate' L70 lately misses repeatedly even when the enemy vehicle size is bigger than the aiming circle. And while penetration is quite alright, damage output is too low to be a real threat to tier 7-8-9 I regularly face. The 88 L/56 is even worse for wear. Higher damage means nothing when you can only penetrate the sides. What? Ow sure I'll flank them. Opponents are generally very generous and let me get to their sides.

Sure, the Hellcat is faster than the rest, but is it mobile? Nope. Take a AMX40 and drive it downhill then start turning and going on flat ground. That's how a Hellcat moves, add the second or third slowest turning turret in the game (KV-2 or Maus) and you have a very good picture of how the Hellcat is on the test server.

Good speed downhill and after about 30 seconds going in a straight, flat line. Otherwise it's moblity is very mediocre at best. Zero armor, check. Average gun, check. Fun to play, sometimes.

M18 will change the game with about 0%. Or well, more people will die faster when driving it compared to other tanks. That's probably the only unique thing about the Hellcat.

"Hellcat - die faster than in any other tank!"

Lol. Did you seriously expect the red russians to give the US a good tank?

:P

True that.

Can we have a lend-lease version of it? Paint the red star on it, make it premium, give it it's true moblity, some old 'historical' and 'gameplay' balance (S-70 should do the trick) and perhaps slap on some historical IS-7 armor just for the heck of it?

Nah, I don't see a future for the Hellcat as a viable tank for randoms. Collectors and people driving it for shits and giggles will have it (like M24 Chaffee) but otherwise you won't see it on the field.

I agree. Seriously, EVERYTHING penetrates you, you are not mobile, your turret turns like a gigantic concrete block turned by a hamster, the gun is mediocre, not to mention that arty HE shell will pen you, and then you are dead. I have not been impressed one bit by the hellcat. If you want speed, mobility and firepower, but no armor, take the medium line of frenchies.

SU-100 > M-36 > JpIV. Have not tried the new one yet, but I much doubt it will be better than M-36. More like "a bit faster, but not as durable. Same gun."  << add: no mobility. Wow. Just, wow.

I remind my first game in the JagdPz IV... The stock tank is absolutely useless. It's got a worse gun than the previous StuG and you can't even put a camo net on it due to the ridiculous loading capacity. (btw: 100kg for a camo net? Are you kidding? I've served in a recce outfit and the camo we used on a recce tank never even reached 50kg...)

The Jagdpanzer IV is nice when fully researched (due to its mobility compared to some other TDs) but nothing compared to the other tier VI TDs.

I'd pick Su-100. Even though its gun is rather inaccurate, I still managed some "over-the-map" shots, especially on Karelia. And that's what TDs are for - stay hidden and hit enemies with your long hands.

For the worst, I'd pick Slugger, because it is mediocre on all accounts. JpzIV is more fun to play, because it is very agile which compensates for its subpar gun.

It's because of historical issues. The materials were not so advanced in these days and therefore were heavier...

I played alot with the Slugger, not so much anymore.

The most annoying problem of the Slugger is nerfed to the ground gun depression for the 90mm. The Hellcat, as seen here will fix that.

If the 90mm gun stats remain the same or similar then the Hellcat will be decent.

Don't get me started on that POS Jagdpz4. It made me quit the german TD line.
