Tank Shoot! Shoot a Tank. Win a Prize!

Title:
Tank Shoot!

The theme is based on Duck Shoot and other Fun Fair Carnival shooting games.

Roll up, roll up! Have you got the steady hand of a Sniper? Can you damage or kill more Tanks than anyone else?
If the answer is yes, then your shooting skills could win you a prize!
Earn a Sniper, Confederate or Top Gun Medal during the contest to be in with the chance of winning a rare Premium Tank.
So load up, take aim and make every shot count. Good Luck!

Main Goal:
To encourage better accuracy and shooting skills in all players.

Environment:
Random Battles only

Time Frame:
Contest lasts the duration of a weekend.
Judging takes place during the week following the end of the contest and winners are announced later that week.

Rules:
To enter a player must earn either a Sniper Medal, Confederate Medal or Top Gun Medal (or any combination) during the contest period.
  • Players should email a full screenshot of their garage screen with the after battle message showing the medal awarded.
  • Players may only enter for themselves on their own account via the email address to which their account is registered; This is to simplify the procedure of awarding prizes to the winners and to prevent cheating.
  • One entry per player only.
  • Existing owners of the prize tank are not eligible to enter.

Judging:
The winners will be chosen at random from all submitted entries. Judges don't have to open every email, at the end of the contest they can simply open the emails at random until they have found 25 valid entries.

Number of Winners:
25

Rewards:
A prize of a KV-220 tank with a Garage Slot & 100% Crew
x25 prizes (one for each winner)

Suggestions and notes:
I suggest this contest is repeated at least once per month. The contest prize could be alternated through various premium tanks (especially ones that are difficult to obtain by other means). I've tried to make this contest as easy as possible to judge and administer so that it can be run regularly.

Title: Kill the Courier Mk 2!

Main Goal: To kill the courier (see rules for more details

Environment: Random battles

Time Frame: Friday to Monday inclusive
Preparation: Info posted three days in advance of event. No need to sign up for anything. Use the ability to send in-game notifications to inform those who don't visit the website.
Contest duration: Friday to Monday inclusive
Judging time: N/A

Rules: At the start of every random game during the period, a random player will be assigned to be the courier. Nobody (including the courier him/herself) will know whom has been selected. If the courier is killed, the killer will recieve 100 gold. As well as the info saying that you have killed the courier's tank (the standard one you see when you kill someone), you will see an additional line informing you that you have killed the courier. Obviously, team-kills do not count.

Judging
: Screenshots or replays posted in a specific thread, or an auto-awarding system if possible. Consider giving no reward to a player who has already killed a courier during the current event.

Number of Winners: Unknown, but probably very high. As above, consider giving no reward to a player who has already killed a courier during the current event.

Rewards: 100 gold per winner. No hard limit on overall winnings.

Rationale: One thing that I have never liked about 'Kill the Courier' events is the exculsivity of them. I do not recall ever having seen one of these couriers, and I'm sure that many other players would agree that these contests seem like non-events. As such, I wanted a contest that would expand the basic idea (which is quite good) whilst not requiring WG to stump up many more couriers. By the laws of averages, this would allow the majority of the playerbase to get a small amount of gold, boosting the number of players as people reopen dormant accounts as they see the chance of some gold. This would spark great interest in the game in the short term.

This would also help WG throw off the picture that some people have that they are trying to make the game as hard as possible for non-premium players by letting lots of people benefit regardless of tier, style, or artistic talent. It would be a contest truly open to all. And that is why I suggest it.

Thank you for your time.

This is my entry, it promotes active play, instead of camping.
Title:
No Camping Allowed Contest

Main Goal:

Promotion of active play instead of camping

Environment:
Random battles

Time Frame:
Contest duration: 1 weekend
Judging time: 3-7 days

Rules:
1. Only tanks can participate (no TD, no spg);
2. Only one entry per player;
3. The player must show his skills in active playing, which means:
a). the player can not camp for more than 30 seconds in one spot;
b ). moving forward-backward for a few meters is still considered camping, the player must move at least 25m from the last position (it is forbidden to use the speed control in order to move around slowly);
c). time spent as tracked does not count as camping time;
d). the player can not stay in base (he may return to base in order to defend, but can not stay in base afterwards, and can not camp while defending);
e). the player may use vegetation/terrain/objects as cover while stopping in those 30 seconds max he’s camping;
f). the player must survive the battle;
g). the player must do at least 1000 dmg in a battle (this is to discourage scouting tanks from having easy and unfair entries in the contest);
h). only tiers 4-6 are allowed (minimum tier 4 to allow players the possibility to gather 1000dmg, maximum is tier 6, to avoid high tier tanks that can easily pray on lower tier tanks).
4. Players must provide a recording of the match, and must have OTM (Over Taget Markers) mod installed, in order to add up the damage dealt.
5. Only matches from the period of time the contest is active are allowed.
6. Any exploitation or workaround the rules presented will lead to disqualification.

Judging:
Judging will occur by the WG staff, which will validate the entries, according to most damage dealt. There will be 5 other randomly selected players out of the rest of the participants.

Number of Winners:
Two categories of prizes:
1. Top 5 most damage dealt;
2. Random 5 players.

Rewards:
Top 5 players (most damage dealt):
1. 7500 gold;
2. 6250 gold;
3. 5000 gold;
4. 3750 gold;
5. 2500 gold.
Random 5 players will receive 1500 gold if their entry is drawn using http://www.random.org/ generator.

Total gold awarded:
32500.

Show your team that you are not a camper.

Tank-i-techt

Main Goal:
Design a Premium tank. Which is then created for the game, and is Sold on the WoT store.

Environment:
Research followed by:
Artwork/Text/Photograph

Time Frame:
Preparation: 1 Month
Contest duration: N/A
Judging time: As needed.
Reward time: As needed.

Entries: Can be limited, maybe 2 per person.
Rules:
Objective to design a Premium tank That is HISTORICALLY possible or actually existed.
The tank must have real life basis, preferably supported by Photo-graphical evidence.
The submission would contain Details* of the tank, how it would translate to World of tanks, and how/why it would be balanced.

*The Details would be where the tank was used (if it was historically used), or how the components existed. For example on the upcoming premium Jagdtiger seems to be a likely combination of two Jagdtiger variants. the Details would also include the stats.

Judging:
Manual judging by WG.Net staff

Number of Winners:
1-3 winners. Depending on work level required for entries.
Might be more, if multiple entries for the same vehicle.

Rewards:

1x the designed premium tank + Garage slot for free, per entrant.

Notes:
If a single tank is suggested by multiple people, and that tank is selected as the winner, then each counts as a "winner".
To ease work load, you could specify a tank based upon a tank already in game.

Title:
The Historian (title subject to change to something not terrible)

Main Goal:
To recreate an actual historic battle in the training room. Try to get as close to the documented facts as possible. How many of each type of tank were there? How were they equipped? Who was the victor? How many tanks survived?
This is a contest branching off of the historical battles, however the goal here is to make an epic film using ONLY World of Tanks footage from a recreated battle in the training room.
Narration is allowed, special effects are not. The video should not be altered in any way aside from cutting segments or moving them.

The end goal of the contest is to create an epic, historic film using World of Tanks gameplay footage.

Environment:
Training room battles, followed by video editing to create a "film"

Time Frame:
Preparation: One week for research
Contest duration: One month
Judging time: Several weeks depending on amount of submissions and available man-power

Rules:
1. Battle must take place in training room (must provide screen shots and replays proving this)
2. Submission must be a video, uploaded to any fileshare site (preferably YouTube). Cannot be a replay file.
3. Video must be 4-6 minutes long
4. No special effects; video editing must only be used to cut and/or paste video segments
5. Soundtracks are allowed - music, narration, etc.
6. Multiple battles are allowed for the end product, however each one must be accompanied with a screenshot and a replay.
7. Battle must be corresponding to an actual historical battle from WWII
8. Each entry should be accompanied by a short summary of the battle - nations and tanks taking part, result of the battle, location and corresponding map used (include a short explanation for why that map was chosen), who the winner was, how many tanks were destroyed (if this information is available), any other relevant information that is reflected in the film

Judging:
WG employees/volunteers will single out valid entries.
Valid entries will then be subject to a vote by players.

Number of Winners:
Three sets of winners - 1st, 2nd, 3rd places

Rewards:
5,000 gold to every person participating in the winner's team
3,000 gold to every person participating in the 2nd place winner's team
2,000 gold to every person participating in the 3rd place winner's team

Total sum is variable depending on the team size, but maximum sum would be 300,000 gold assuming each winning team used 30 players.
While this is a great sum, keep in mind that these videos can easily be used as promos for the game to bring in new players.
